I am looking for a compatible minimap for better than wolves (if there even is one). Does one even exist?

No there doesn't, and honestly that would basically be cheating in BTW. The entire point of removing the coords is to force the player to use landmarks and roads to navigate, and a minimap would at least partially, if not wholly, subvert that.
