This guy make a 3D printer print a Minecraft World, the result is just awesome.

Need to find out how much one of those would cost. One day, one day I'll be given the money which is rightfully mine, and by god I'm blowing some of it on one of these.

Through that one 3D printing service, the name of which I can't remember, something like this would probably be around 2K.

If you know someone who has one or something though, the actual cost to make it shouldn't be more than a few hundred.

Actually, reading the page, the author of it recommends shipping an export of the file to a company called Shapeways, which makes it for you or something like that. Prices varied based on whether the sections were solid/hollow, how big they were, etc, but a 15 X 18 inch section (or similar) was about $660 (usd), solid.

I have seen stuff like this before. Someone printed out a scale replica of the ship from star trek ( USS ENTERPRISE ) And a companion cube.

The print in the Op has to be the best print I have seen of minecraft thought. And just a point but for Less than $600 you could have your very own 3D non color printer.

I have been debating getting or making one of the above two printers for a while now . Still don't know how "use full" it would actually be.

I built a small rapid prototyping mill out of a router and a couple old flatbed scanners I picked up at the university computer auction and I would still balk at the cost of the medium for a project that size. Colour me impressed.
