Is it just me, or is Curse total rubbish?

Seems I can hardly access MCF these days due to "server at capacity" error messages. Is this something local for me or are others encountering it as well?

The minecraft forums have been particularly bad the past month. I suppose at least part of the problem would come from the absence of any really busy alternative site. Just about everything minecraft related occurs on that site and the traffic level is absurd.

Not that I'm excusing the poor quality of the access but it might be a partial explanation.

Yeah, I wanna see you weed all of the trolls when dealing with such a massive amount of people. The thing is, that any person can go "gently caress this" and troll the place. I've even seen a few people here admit to such.

Worst yet is, that trolls aren't the actual problem. The problems are lack of online experience and simple stupidity. Besides, it's hard to get hands-on online experience when you've barely learned to read and want to talk with people about your most favorite game in the world ever. And you see more and more of that as you get more and more people.

And one does not simply ban every idiot/newb on the planet.

On the other hand, I agree with you that they simply aren't doing enough. They're past the point of trying/caring. The good moderators simply leave once the gentle trickle of idiocy becomes an instoppable tidal shitwave. There's only so much e-drama one cares to deal with for free. (God, why am I defending them? My need to look at both sides of the coin is goin' to kill me some day)

I've also been having trouble connecting to these forums this last month... Part of the reason i signed up, thought that might fix it... but just coming to these forums to type this, i had a Connection timed out and then a Server reset...

Is it just me?

O wouldn't be so quick calling Curse rubbish, http://www.minecraftforum.net/ is one of the biggest internet forums by traffic, and with now Mojang doing great job with 1.2 the traffic only increased. It's not strange that servers are struggling.

Sometimes localized traffic bottle-necks can result in the unavailability of services on the other end of said bottle-neck. However, sometimes the bottle-neck is in the service being accessed. I think Curse is just going through a tough-phase, with the massive amounts of users that visit every day. I won't make any statements regarding the quality or intelligence of said users, however.
