RS Lamps not playing nice with lens

Second, the RS Lamp isn't playing nice with the lens. I know that prior to the 1.5 update the RS lamp worked just fine with the lens because that is how I set up my lift. But now, the rs lamp doesn't trigger the lens to create its beam.

Are you sure? Last time I checked the windmill on your lift was broken, rather than the beam itself.

oh yes, I'm sure. I double checked my gear box before even making this assumption. And to verify, I put a block just above the lens too. Tested with a torch and light block. Both worked fine, but the RS lamp didn't. I have presently replaced my RS lamp in favor of the light block earlier today cuz the RS lamp wasn't working.

Had a quick play and I think the cause is that when a RSLamp is turned off, the lens still projects light.
