Hello everyone,
I don't know why, but one of my gearboxes keeps breaking in my setup, although I can see nothing that could damage it (no fire).
Here is a small part of the setup:

What could be the problem?

Any stoked fires in the area? That's the only thing I know of that can break gearboxes...
It would help if you could include screenshots of what else is in the area, easier to troubleshoot that way.

There is a stoked fire but quite far away, and with a crucible over it. Moreover, there's as you can see stonebrick as well to protect the gearboxes... I'll try to move the gearbox a little further from the fire :) Thank you!
EDIT: not so far in fact, I'll move the gearbox to see if it's better!

So one layer of stone is not enough to protect the gearbox?

It's not about layers, a long as there a empty block next to a flammable block (gearbox in this case) in the fire spread area it will catch fire (the fire spread area is 3x3 column going from 1 block below the flame block to 4 block above it).

Well, that's a good advice! Thank you!
(oh and by the way I noticed some time later that the gearboxes had burnt, as there were missing planks on the floor just above the gearboxes)
