Shiftclicking bucket into lava

When caving near lava I often sneak to avoid accidentally killing myself. In an attempt to extinguish lava I have now lost t̶w̶o̶ three invaluable buckets by placing them either directly into the lava or by placing them on a wall or ceiling above the lava, dooming the poor bucket.

Stop throwing buckets into the lava. Sneaking tends to feel a bit gamey anyway try to take your time and make a real man's bridge. Also good luck in the cow pit cowboy!
