Gravel and sand can floating over snow
If you try to put sand or gravel above the block that snow occupies, by placing it to the side of another block, it stays afloat over the snow.

That's standard vanilla behavior on everything from torches to snow.
Guys, PLEASE stop posting vanilla issues as Bug Reports. If you're uncertain, post in tech support to ask other players for clarification.
This kind of stuff inevitably ends of wasting my time. Time which could be better spent elsewhere, and I'm going to start handing out warnings and bans for it again if this persists.
