Battleaxe consumes hunger when used against plants

Battleaxe consumes hunger when used against plants

Since all the other (dedicated) axes above iron don't consume hunger when breaking zero-toughness plants, it seems kind of weird that battleaxes do. Is this an intended tradeoff for saving a hotbar slot, or unintended?
