My wife and I watch more youtube than TV, and scattered in that viewing are the occasional Minecraft gaming videos. While the personalities of the gamers are entertaining it started becoming apparent that they really are not having much fun playing Minecraft. Even when they include some of the more "advanced" technical mods. However, when they played with mods or on maps that increased restrictions or difficulty the gamers often had much more fun, and it would show.
That being said, I began to consider why they were having more fun on those maps or mods. I would also contrast the "why" with the opinions of folks like FC, TB and other's (here on this forum and elsewhere). The obvious conclusion was that the elements gamers were enjoying were also hardcore additions in Better Than Wolves.
This realization was the genesis of the "Remember when..." campaign, and once I was in "propaganda mode" the other tag lines followed suit. I'm clearly not great at this, but I thought: if I make the ideas available to others, then they can run with them. If my ideas fall flat, so be it. Then lets make this thread a centralized location to discuss and find Better Than Wolves banners, slogans, etc.
I can't be the only one to have noticed that Minecrafters need the strength of gaming that is in Better Than Wolves.

Paint.net - I chose this because it is more forgiving than MS Paint (when I use layers properly) and costs less than Photoshop (free!).
---Banner sizes---
MCF signature banner allowance: 728 x 100 pixels
FC uses a banner size of 596 x 100 pixels
This is my typical banner size. Though, during design the banners are much larger (1217 x 205) and then reduced when the final product is achieved.
---Frame Reference---

This is my pdn file (Paint.net file) that has my "frame references." Each of the three red boxes bounds the banner area. Meaning: inside the boxes is the size of the banners. So, what I do is I use the "magic wand tool" and "select" the inside of the frame and crop the canvas to the selected size. This leaves me with an image that is the correct banner size. Of course I do this after I have designed the banner and I am ready to save the image. And this is probably only helpful to people using Paint.net :P
