Eating is never really an issue for me. I end up eating less than I used to (the minute one pip is down and eating a steak yo refill saturation >.<) and getting to the late game dinners/stews really makes it more easily managed. No real worrying about my hunger management while I'm at base seems like a great reward for all the rest of my effort ;) same thing with building a good mob trap. It takes long enough that it's a real treasure once you finish ;)
