Redstone solidification for torches

As we all know, Redstone is an easy to come by, abundant material. Its crafting recipes are extremely simply, and easy to mass produce. I suggest a modification to the Redstone torch for a slight bit of added challenge. In appearance, mined Redstone resembles dust, and also resembles dust when placed. This being said there, is not much logic to sticking Red dust atop a stick, and it suddenly becoming a solid object. Which brings us to the suggestion of having to smelt the Redstone (dust) in a cauldron or crucible, so it becomes something along the lines of "concentrated Redstone," a fashionable solid object not that unlike from Hellfire dust that is made into Hellfire bars through the same means.

What would be the point of this? With how often redstone and torches are used, this would become tedious and very annoying.

As I mentioned above, its to add a slight challenge to the making of them, obtaining other products such as SFS is also very tedious for the frequency it is used, especially when mass production is involved. Adding a minor change to the way torches are made shouldn't be any more trouble than necessary, and is only meant to give a little realism, as this mod tends to do to the game. It really shouldn't be any more trouble than making all the iron necessary for the above mentioned. On the other hand, it promotes the use of automating the cauldron for something other than filaments or glue. In addition, it could act as a precursor to the point in the BTW tech tree where serious Redstone and mechanical power usage begins to occur. On another note, 9 pieces of the "condensed Redstone" or what have you, could be the material required to make the 1.5 Redstone block.
