Bats can be a huge pain in the ass but now with them dropping arcane scrolls many people are looking to farm them. The one thing that bats respond to the most is sound.
Sound could be used to drive them off. Example - Tuning fork on a powered axle could make ultra sonic sound to drive them off.
Sound as a lure. Example - Maybe being able to power a jukebox so it repeats the record in it and have a new record (bugs).
The way to produce sound could vary from the examples above.

I've stated I'm revising bats shortly. Making suggestions about yet to be released features is a personal pet peeve of mine.
