CraftGuide much more than just compatible with BTW

Post by Samorost »

I play only with two modes "Better Than Wolves" :o) and CraftGuide (and of course ModLoader)

But when I installed them today on v1.4.4, I saw little bit different.

so enjoy it :o)

Oh wow, this is amazing.
I knew CraftGuide displayed the vMC recipes, but I never knew it showed all the BTW ones like it does. Awesome, thanks for showing.

Wow, I didn't know it showed BTW recipes. I will probably use this to save me time looking through the wiki!

That's strange. I just looked at his thread and see no mention of BTW support being added, and I can't see this working without specific support.

Cool stuff though.

well i gota say thats pretty cool, and definitely unexpected. could be very useful so you dont have to constantly open up the wiki everytime you forget a recipe :p if your anything like me at least. i always find my self forgetting how to craft something i haven't crafted in a while. also cool for learning things that never occurred to me, like sawing a fence into 2 corners :o altho i suspect FC may find it a bit cheaty, as he normally likes us to discover such little things on our own......i think im guna go chuck random stuff at my saw for a little bit now :p

Well, not more cheaty than using a wiki. I don't really mind this kind of reference mod. I don't use them myself, but I know a lot of people do, and I don't have any strong objections to them.

I find it rather funny that people are figuring out this way when there is a thread about it by urist in the add-ons section.
<FlowerChild> if I wasn't serious, I would have just fucked you and left :)

I see on the Craftguide Github that BTW support was added about a week ago. I might have to give this mod a try since I occasionally do forget a recipe once in a while.

Considering you made the mod it would be rather troubling if you couldn't recall it's recipes.

This is definitely cool, will have to download and check it out.

Well + vanilla recipes of course. Also, I do forget the odd one on occasion. I often bulk-craft myself a supply of something that lasts me a long time, and may forget a recipe before I need my next batch.

Usually though, when I do forget a recipe, it tends to lead to a tweak to that recipe to make it easier to remember or more intuitive. I guess that's part of the reason why I'd never want to use a mod like this, as for me, it would largely remove an aspect of play-testing the mod for me in making it too easy to look up. I'd thus be less likely to make the realization that a recipe is in need of refinement.

But that is a very particular situation unique to my own role as the mod's developer.

He mentioned support of BTW in this forum Here
So great!

While I have memorised almost all the recipes, there is still a lot not put to memory. BTW now has a staggering amount of things! I find it so handy, especially for those high efficiency recipes.

Oh! Interesting. I had no idea that was created by the original author of CraftGuide. Cool beans :)

Yeah, it's very cool that Uristqwerty added support for BTW, as this is one of the very few other mods I use. Massive props to him for taking the time to do this.

Also, something I noticed: maps can smelt into iron ingots in the crucible. Is that intended? It's understandable so as to be able to reclaim the iron from the compass, just a bit counterintuitive.

Just wondering, is all. :)
