I just found the related section of the code. It turns out that scheduled block updates are now saved when a chunk is unloaded. This changes everything.

I noticed this yesterday, but I didn't want to say anything. I'm still having so much fun with this release, I don't know if I can handle something big :D.

So, how long has it been that items that fall onto a stewing pot are collected into it? I first experienced this while farting around in creative mode today. This is the first time I've ever seen or experienced this feature, and I started last year with the Yogscast video. I feel as though my mind's been expanded through my ears.
