hopper not transfering items into chest

ok, not sure if this is a bug, or if im doing it wrong, but i places 2 hopper's with a block in between them to seperate the chest's, and then placed the chest under them, but they are not transfering the items from the hopper to the chest.

They need mechanical power.

Rule of thumb: If BTW content is not working for you, first try mechanical power. Then try providing redstone power. If all else fails, try setting it ablaze.
