Maybe it's a Modder's Curse or something. It happened in 3.63, as well as 3.25 of BTB.
Both the Colosseum of the past and the Hunger Games of the (supposed) future stem from the fact that life is simply a competition to see who can live the longest.

Well, I'm pretty sure no one else will run into that problem I misinstalled BTW. I wasn't paying attention and just dropped the whole jar I got from the BTW download into the jar(using multiMC.) So I never opened it up. Although I only figured it out after I posted.

haha, yeah. I mean this isn't anything game breaking, but I've been testing it and hadn't seen a single instance of that black hole bug. So I thought it was squashed until of course I release it and it comes up again. It hasn't happened again though, so maybe its just rare that it happens. I'm thinking of just removing all the code for the butterflies stopping at flowers behavior, since that seems to be where the problem lies.

Eureka!!!! BTW, BTB, BC, SV, Vat and BTW Deco all working in perfect beautiful harmony!!! As someone who barely understands this magic box that shoots colored light at me for entertainment, social networking, and porn; I am quite proud of myself.

Had to jack around with the config file. But for anyone who wants to run all the above listed BTW related add-ons together, I'll put my config in a spoiler. I just changed things on this mod's config file (mostly because this one is just aesthetic and I don't want to screw with any of the BC related stuff for fear of breaking things). I'm doing a test run now, but so far it appears that at least on Creative, everything from each of these mods is accounted for.

Here's my config:
Spoiler
Show
GravestoneID=189
SpawnFireflies=true
SteelLanternLitID=172
CherryLogID=170
LanternID=173
checksum=3a4
CherryLeafID=174

HiveID=176
MeadBarrelID=177

LinkFlowersID=183
HoneysuckleID=184
CherrySaplingID=188
HayBaleID=186
PaperWallID=169
SteelLanternID=187
And kaos, thank you again for making this.

With all these non-torch sources of light, I wonder if it's time to revisit the idea of torches burning out or being put out by rain.

Glad you got it working! And thanks for posting the config, I'm sure it'll help everyone.

Well, sure. But I won't be doing anything like that. :P

For anyone who is wondering, the mod works fine with BTW 3.70 :)

Updated config to reflect Sargunster's update (only 1 change needed, everything works like cake, though if you had steel lanterns before, they will be color sensors with this change)

I have to say I love how this looks, but like some, I only have the one world I use for my recordings. I eagerly await the block ID update, and then I will instantly add this to my world.
If it can't be built, FlowerChild just hasn't thought of it yet. ;)

Glad you like it, and I feel ya on the block ID thing. I've decided to take a cue from FC's decision to release some smaller updates, and sort of do the same. I'll try to still be minimal with what I add, I just don't want to have development slow so much that I lose interest while waiting for Mojang. I hope this doesn't hinder anyone's ability to use it (BTB users in particular), but I can't really promise compatibility before the extended block ID's anyway.

If only, if only we had the increased block ID already. On a side note, does anybody know what happens if you have two mods that have the same recipe for different objects? I'm asking because one of my other mods uses the recipe you use for hay bales for thatch roofing.

I believe the first recipe always wins.

Edit: This means that your mod load order is what matters.

Hmm... I can't seem to make lanterns. I was able to make a net, and catch fireflies, but the firefly + molding recipe doesn't seem to do anything. Any suggestions?

Oh woops, forgot to update the OP. I added paper to the corners of the recipe. Will update the OP in a bit.

It might just be because I'm in creative, but Cherry Blossom Trees don't seem to want to grow for me. I think that might be it but I just wanted to make sure.

They take a little while to grow. Put some torches around them and go do something else for awhile. You cannot bonemeal them like you can vanilla trees.

I'm just taking my first look around at night. I'm finding myself with a stupid grin on my face watching the fireflies. I'm looking forward to digging into the crafting stuff. Thanks for a great add-on.

I love the add-on!
I can't wait for the extended ids so that I can use this in my main world, but for now my copy will have to do

I figured you couldn't bonemeal them, but it takes more than about 2 Minecraft days? Enh. They look nice, though, so I suppose it's worth it.

They are essentially a copy of the applewood trees. Not much has changed about their growth method. Check to make sure they have enough room, just like you would for vanilla trees. It can take awhile if they have limited room. They are growing for me, even in creative, so its definitely not a problem with the add-on.

Does anyone know if this is compatible with BTW 3.71? I'd hate to lose my Japanese style city accidentally.

Usually BTW updates between vMC updates don't break compatibility, so I wouldn't worry too much about those. But to be on the safe side, when in doubt, back up your world! :)

(but this one I've already tested, so yes its working :P)

Finally updated the OP to be a little more structured. Hopefully this gives people a better idea of how everything fits into the BTW tech tree, and some insight on how content will fit into the add-on in the future. Everything sort of falls into little modules, in an effort both to keep it nice and organized, as well as to promote the sense of progression BTW gives us, and also to prevent forcing people into messing with a feature they'd rather not mess with.

Anyway, I can't really show this without making a video, but the firefly lanterns will have an animated texture in the next release. Yay! :3
