Check out Battosay's Rube goldberg machine, or my own infinitely extendable pottery system. The gist is you use a Block Dispenser to turn your clay balls into clay blocks, and then push them up with pistons.

Hey guys,

I only had about 20mins to mess around updating my unfired pottery system but this is what I came up with:
Spoiler
Show
Image
It's a manual loading system with 6 turntables, the lever on the right switches the turntables off for loading, the button pushes the desired output (read: urns) with the pistons into a water stream.

Just a handy little thing I threw together to mass produce urns before I tackle automating the process.

Cheers,

Nath

*EDIT* Would help if I knew my left from right :-P

Yeah like I said, this was just thrown together quickly. I'll get round to automating it tommorow, I've already got the soul bottling part sussed, just gotta start working on an auto kiln. This is just to stockpile a few resources to supply the project I'm planning.

Cheers,

Nath

TheAnarchitect, I got problems with Archimede's Screw. Would this system be easier to setup? Even I can vision how I should set it up, I think, without having to look at any pictures.

But I think it will interfere with my current system. I'll have to take a look at The Screw once again...

Much easier to set up. My signature includes a link to the design I made using the technique.

Nice build. Criticism, use different 'textures' when possible, the wall seem bland. Example, for the base of outer walls I use two stacked stone slabs all the way around. Sometimes instead of a full stone brick wall I'll line te edges with stone slabs and wall the inside with stone brick, or edges with stone brick and wall in cobble, just something to break it up.

Nice build, shapes are good, texture it up.

IMO

Rather than just changing the block textures, consider adding more actual texture as well. A few depressions and protrusions on the walls go a long way toward breaking up the 'yet another square tower' feel of a build. Adding some inverted stone brick stairs around the top and a couple of these at the base, for example. A couple of vines or mossy bricks mixed in also tend to look nice.

Just whipped this together as a visual example.

I'm trying to figure out how I could build that on it's side, just for full escherness.

I was thinking the same. Would be cool to have that illusion. Should work well with mouldings and sidings.

Hey everyone !

So I recently started a new world and decided to show what I've done to the community. Unfortunately I haven't much to show just yet. I didn't even started my way up the BTW tech tree and only got my windmill ready to be placed somewhere in my world.
The picture below in the spoiler is only a little teaser for what is to come, but don't bother to show anything at all... yeah, it's in fact more like a "not teaser".
Anyway, I'm done rambling :

I proudly present you...

I'm sure it's a known glitch but I just discovered it and found it funny enough to get me started posting pictures ^^

I'll be back soon to show you more builds. In particular I got planed a tribute to Battosay, which is a pain in the butt to build. A tribute to Battosay indeed !

I have tinkered for about 2-3 hours to finish the automatic refilling of the pottery maker. I had to fit it in around what I already had, so messing with waterstreams, having to look at earlier wiring, new timings, etc. made it a challenge.

But I finally finished it, currently looking like this:

For those who are wondering it is a mix between Battosay's Phoenix Pottery System, together with some hints I got from TheAnarchitect's refill system.

Wiee :D I'm happy!

Very close :P

It's a phallic day/night sensor. The middle column of blocks is hollow and at the base of the structure is a lens directly above and pointing to a DB :P I needed the tube to isolate the lens from the surrounding torch light and have it only be affected by daylight :]

This is my "Dirt to Grass" Converter, wich can also be used as an "Dirt to mycelium" Converter, to farm grass or mycelium.
It´s connected to an "1"-"2"-"3+Reset" Counter. You just need to fill the right BD with Dirt, and you can take out the Grass in the left BD. I don´t know if so many repeaters were needed. The right DB is connected to 7 repeaters setted to 4 in a line.

In total about 30-40 hours but most of it was spending time running around setting things up and gathering matterials. I've got big plans like that for the Dimensia world if I can do it in the next couple days,

Made a mostly automatic leather tanning facility. Comes with in-depth explanation.

Yes, I made it in Creative, and yes, on a Superflat world. I was just testing to see if I can actually do it since I'm not very experienced in the world of automation. There are two sides; one for leather and one for dung (later I will show a way to make it smaller. I made it out of Blocks of Padding because I like building with unusual materials in Creative, and the Mushroom blocks because of an inside joke that you guys are on the outside of.

http://i.imgur.com/Uj8AK.png
This is the side that produces leather. It's symmetrical so I will only show the left side.

http://i.imgur.com/gMcAO.png
This is one of the two cow pens. How it works is that BDs will dispense wheat from above, and the cows will mate. The baby will spawn between them, pushing the one cow onto the pressure plate. This will activate two pistons, one of which will open a trapdoor and drop the baby in. The other will push the cow back to where it was before, resetting the rest of the system.
http://i.imgur.com/bcUHi.png
This is the redstone for the system. I might label it later.

http://i.imgur.com/eXgEr.png
The baby falls into the depression in the floor, and when it grows up it will instinctively wander onto the hoppers. The Detector Block (DB) will un-freeze a clock attached to the dispenser (filled with arrows) which will kill the cow. There are slats on the hoppers, and so only the leather will move on.
http://imgur.com/a/WRJdO#13
This water wheel in the back powers the hoppers.
http://i.imgur.com/yrjRH.png
Dispenser redstone.

http://i.imgur.com/pqLDg.png
The DB also sends a signal up this redstone torch tower which leads to...
http://i.imgur.com/axHOU.png
The BDs! It's a fully automated system. The torch at the end is part of the signal that begins the system, which I never activated because I'm lazy.

http://i.imgur.com/BHXSX.png
The leather falls into this water flow.

http://i.imgur.com/Q58KG.png
The leather is scoured here, and the hopper leads directly to a cauldron because I didn't build high enough.

http://i.imgur.com/qqfIw.jpg
This is the dung side. I forgot about changing the time for a bit, so it's dusk right now.

http://i.imgur.com/UxRqu.png
The top of it is just a replica of the leather side, and if I had BTB I could simply use one machine and use a pipe to grab the beef since it's wasted over there and the leather's wasted over here. The exception is that it doesn't loop because of something I'll describe below.

http://i.imgur.com/BBp0M.png
The beef runs down to BDs which feed the wolves with a button-press (couldn't figure out how to automate it, so there's a button at the bottom that will be next. This button also feeds the cows.
http://i.imgur.com/EuyMz.png
The redstone for the BDs.
http://i.imgur.com/F0Xsy.png
Closer look.

http://i.imgur.com/W8zVS.png
There's the signal from the button leading up to the redstone.
http://i.imgur.com/Pq8aK.png
And there's the button.

http://i.imgur.com/inXge.png
The dung goes through this water flow and into the same hopper the leather does.

http://imgur.com/a/WRJdO#12
This is where the hopper leads, and there's a handcrank to spill the cauldron for those who are especially lazy. This is at the bottom of the map, and unfortunately the netherrack can't be lit because it will burn vital apparati. So it can't actually tan the leather (and it fails its base function), but a little more height would allow the cauldron to be more remote.
Both the Colosseum of the past and the Hunger Games of the (supposed) future stem from the fact that life is simply a competition to see who can live the longest.
