Not too fond of it. I like the blocks actually, that's what kept me playing minecraft the first few weeks.

The more infinimine/dwarf fortress clones, the better though :). We need this to become a new genre with lots of AA titles.

I saw that this morning too, it's got a long way to go before it comes close to challenging minecraft.

While I kind of like the organic look of the mining and terrain, the building is the same, which is pointless, can you imagine how fiddly it would be trying to build things with straight walls!

Terraria was boring after two hours because of the gimped building. I was never really interested in finding out the new biomes, because I had no real reason to go there, except for equipment upgrades. It did perfect the combat.

So yeah, Terraria combat and mobs + minecraft tech tree and building options with an open ended 3D building mode, like above.

I think it's has a very strong potential to be a very strong contender for the sandbox genre. It all depends on the dev. I'm going to be keeping my eye on this one for sure
