This was attempted before - there was a bit of an issue with worlds getting corrupted due to different mod set ups. So if you want to do this, you should make sure everyone is using the same block IDs and things like that.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure everybody has the same settings!

One rule I think should be set up: Everybody plays offline. That way, any account-specific features are shared by everybody, wolves will obey more than one person, etc. It'll just make things a lot less annoying.

You should be able to get a few people interested, just get a list of mods together an wait. I'd join, but I'm a little busy with my own little project :|

Though tbh, I need to join one of the social games at some point. Kinda feel like the guy who just sits at the bar all night while his mates are all dancing >.>

If you get a list of mods, I think I might join in.

Now with your witting skills, you should join our godhood game (and because we kinda need someone with some humor)

Here's what I'm thinking:

Better than wolves, industrialcraft, equivalent exchange, Doggy Talents, Somnia, Mo' Creatures... Those are the main ones I have in mind. I'm open to more suggestions.

Ironically, I suck at role-play.

I'll keep it in mind though, as I change my mind often.

I guess I am in for a go with these mods, but any chance we can add buildcraft to it?

How does this work, exactly?

Absolutely!

It's simple: I'm thinking we add the seasons mod or something, and we each get a certain amount of in-game time to play on a map before saving it and sending it to the next person in line to play.

I'd like to play too... I've been putting off playing MC SSP until the final version is released, but I guess that would be fun.

Also as personal bias I guess, could you add my mod to the list? :P

Well legit of course, other then making sure the block ids are the same, nothing comes to mind.

Sounds excellent! When you say electricity, do you mean the stuff from industrialcraft, or redstone power?

Ah. I've never used IC myself, but I've seen LPs that have. Honestly, I'm sure you guys would do much much more with the "forge" mods, let's call them, than I will, I simply have absolutely no grace for the stuff.

I could show you my front yard if you'd like to have a heart attack :)

...Yeah, like I said, NO GRACE FOR THE STUFF. AT ALL.

I've ascended the entire tech tree with that stuff sprawled out on my front lawn, I kid you not.

...I'm going to do the succession group a favor and leave that stuff to you, I'm sure you'd agree that's for the best :)

Everyone does, the first time. Aside from the often weekly content updates, wanting to improve how things are set up is part of the main replay value the mod has ^.^ Can't say how many times I've restarted 'Because I want to try the rebalanced tech tree' because I really wanted to make the BTW fit nicer in my dirt shack/castle.

Oh right, of course we'll also be using the recipebook, that's pretty much a given.

As for play style...

How many in-game days do you think should constitute a turn?

At least you sprawled the stuff out.

All my stuff is in a hole in the ground.

Hey, does anybody know which, if any, of the minimap programs are compatible with forge? Also, I vote in favor of using one, just to avoid getting hopelessly lost in a way that isn't fun.

Alright, I just installed all of the mods:

Doggy Talents
Somnia
Mo' Creatures
Equivalent Exchange
Buildcraft (full)
Industrialcraft2
Better Than Wolves
RecipeBook
Dynamo

They seem to work properly, though I obviously don't have the time to really really really test it.

As for the IDs, should I put my config folder up for public download? would that solve that potential problem?
