I got killed by lightning during a thunder storm in my little portal "building" :

I was standing on the spot where the sandblock is on the 3rd pic, and the lightning killed me and set fire inside the building. Maybe something funky going on because the Nether portal is part of the roof ?
(Note that the Nether portal was off when that happened).

I changed lightning strikes to not damage entities beneath them to prevent this kind of thing for next release.
