High efficiency ladder recipe

I can't craft ladders with the high efficiency recipe, i.e. moulding in an H shape. Tried filling the gaps with what you would use with the normal (post-AAAAAHHHH) recipe, but no cigar. Intentional? Do I need glue or something?

It's intentional. There's no longer such a recipe. The Saw already produces a greater number of shafts than other crafting methods, so "high efficiency" is already baked into its use for recipes involving large numbers of them.

Thanks for the clarification. It certainly makes more sense given that you need to tie the sticks together now.
