If there are any Dark Souls fans on this forum... well, you probably already got Bloodborne.
But on the off chance you haven't yet, do so. It is basically Dark Souls 3. Also one of its central conceits is transforming weapons, which is awesome. There is a longsword that transforms into a warhammer. I am currently dual-wielding it with a shotgun. If I wasn't getting my butt handed to me so hard, this would be seriously badass. :)
That said, if you are, like me, the kind that was used to hiding behind a giant shield in Dark Souls... prepare to learn a new strategy. I'm three hours into the game and haven't seen a shield yet. There is also no block button... There's no weight mechanic, though, so you can stay mobile no matter what weapons you use.
