Lost-Pirate: A Co-Op Server

Post by DeGariless »

Hey fellow BTW players. I have decided to host my own server. I guess we'll see how it goes. I hope to create a place for people to work together and inspire each other. My plan is for everything on the map (including spawn) to be built purely in survival. Currently there is no spawn protection, but spawn protection will probably be added as soon as a proper spawning area is built. I can't wait to see how this unfolds.

Currently the server is not whitelisted, but it is a good idea to apply for whitelist anyway as the server will probably be whitelisted in the future. I also have plans to have a Team Speak server going very soon :)

Rules:
- (Golden Rule) Be Respectful to the server and other players.
- No foul language. (This includes racist and homophobic comments)
- No cheating or exploiting
- No griefing
- No PVP without consent from other player
- No stealing
- No spamming the chat
- No advertising

Whitelist application: (if you're on the banned players thread, don't bother)
1. What is your IGN?
2. Why do you like Better than wolves?
3. Did you read the rules?)

Server address: play.DeGariless.com
TeamSpeak address: talk.DeGariless.com
TeamSpeak password: (posted at spawn -or- PM me)
Current Version: 4.99999A0Fb Marsupial!?!?
White-list: ON

1. What is your IGN? kwoz_
2. Why do you like Better than wolves? Lost interest in vanilla Minecraft after a while. And this is by far one of the most well thought out mods around. I really enjoy the progression Flowerchild has laid out. It's fun, challenging, and rewarding.
3. Did you read the rules? Yes.

So. My roof started leaking right on top of my computer, TV. And all my other electronics. My living room is a disaster because I had to unplug all of my stuff and disperse it across the living room. So obviously, Server is temporarily down. Apparently, Life doesn't want me to have a BTW server, but I'm not giving up!

2. Why do you like Better than wolves?

The challenge. BTW feels like how minecraft should be played, and I think it'd be fun to play with other players.

3. Did you read the rules?

Yep.

Looking forward to playing once everything's dried off! Hope nothing's damaged!

I love difficulty that the game brings as a pose to all other mods were there is no actual challenge.

3. Did you read the rules?)

Yes.

Just as an FYI to any new players.
I started playing yesterday afternoon and was able to survive without dying. Immediate spawn has no animals but a short walk on my first full day and I was able to find food, shelter, etc...

I even found a partially abandoned village with 2 villagers. (no crops though*sad*)

1 hardcore respawn would also more than likely take you to a place with food etc... I just have a thing about dying on purpose.

Happy hunting. I plan to be on more today!

I would like to apply!

1. Shadowhawk36

2. I love BTW because it reminds me of the good old days of gaming. Challenge results in accomplishment. That's what BTW does best. Also, I understand mechanics a good amount, but suck at implementing it into gameplay :P

3. Yes, and I agree with all of them.

P.S. my basic story is that I have dial-up and I use a phone hotspot (with limited data, ~30 GB a month) to play. Naturally this results in less gameplay towards the end of the month.

DeGariless,
.:Start rant:.
Your world is trolling me.
I've found 3 abandoned villages, Decided there was nothing left on the continent that we spawn on so started nether adventuring where I used soul dust to find a nether fort and get the necessities from it. I dug and dug and put portals here and there looking for a new continent, which I finally found. It spawned me literally like 75 blocks up in the air over an ocean with land in sight. I did the only thing I could do and jumped... I was so high that when I hit the water I sank too far and immediately got flagged by gloom causing all the squid in the area to come after me. I thought I was dead... but luckily one squid that was closer to the land grabbed me and flung me away from the 5 other squid who were chasing me. This caused all the squid to be on one side of me so I swam backwards towards land while fighting them all off with my sword. it was very scary. I then had to build a huge staircase up to the portal in the sky, which was a pain. Then began the map making and exploration...
I've found 1 underground desert temple (only the top 2 blocks of the spires and main temple were showing it was hard to notice, I've never seen a desert temple like this), 2 jungle temples (one came with a hefty infestation of jungle spiders, i made it away with 2.5 hearts), 2 witch huts, what seems like a million jungles (seriously though every other biome on this new continent is a huge freaking jungle), every time I pack up and go on a village hunt it starts thunder storming (this is the only time it seems to), it is raining every time I login, after logging out away from a base so I never know how much time i have before night fall. I've explored almost 2 entire fully zoomed out maps on this new continent and now villages just no longer exist...
.:End rant:.

Regardless of the above I press on. I WILL eventually find a village. From the above I've got over 20 blocks of gold, 2 dragon vessels, 2 brewing stands, 1 enchanting table, and a formulated plan for my home base once I find a village and return to do work there.

Are you seeing any other players logging on? I play at weird times and was just curious if i'm just missing everyone else or if i'm the only one :P

All the best,
mc_isaac
