The ambient silverfish sound has made living in a mountain biome (in carved out mountains and underground) quite irritating.
I love the sound, especially when I'm in the caves or in my mine - it adds a lot of ambience - but it just doesn't stop when I'm in my base and there is not much I could do short of digging the walls a few blocks in and replacing them with non-silverfish blocks.

I live in a Stronghold and in my opinion the sound is really subtle, although there are obviously tons of silverfish there. Imho even the sound of axles is way worse.

I live above a stronghold and the silverfish sounds are bearable, but not comfortable. if its not working out, consider shifting above or outside the silverfish infested areas. I live a good number of blocks above the stronghold, so the silverfish sounds don't reach me at home.
consider doing some fieldwork outside if you need a break from the silverfish. Or dragging the silverfish outside as fieldwork.
