No drops when killing a witch feels disappointing

Post by Six »

With how rare they are, I can't help but try to hunt a witch down when I see one appear in my swamp, but it really ends up feeling like an anticlimax when all they drop is xp.

Witch wart man. It's the only way to extend your potions.

Aye, but is it meant to be a rare drop on top of a rare spawn? I've had several instances of killing a witch and not getting any warts.

Well, semi-rare.

Yeah, I guess they could use a common drop of a little more benefit. I'll think on it, but I certainly don't want to pull a vanilla and have them drop existing high-value resources :)

It's the kind of thing where if I have a new feature that I'm wanting to include anyways, and it's looking for a home, then I'd consider adding it to the witches.

Apparently I heard that witches drop shafts. If that is true, shafts would be an excellent product of the mob traps I would build. In my eyes it would be great to have something as basic as shafts in the middle or late game in traps when the saw can cut wood up for more important things. Having shafts be a permanent drop off of witches would fix the disappointment and be such a small reward in the early game (let's say one stick minimum) that building a trap would be the only reasonable thing to do to collect them. But all based off of if witches already drop shafts.

Locking thread before more of the peanut-gallery chimes in :)

Original point communicated. Will keep it in mind.
