Biomes O' Plenty is a mod that is designed to give players a better Minecraft world to explore, and more of a reason to explore it in the first place. There are a lot of realistic biomes as well as some fantasy biomes.
Biomes O' Plenty for Better Than Wolves still follows this basic principle, however only using biomes that "fit in" using only Vanilla blocks and items to prevent wastage of precious IDs. This version of Biomes O' Plenty supports both the Client and the Server and does not redistribute any of FlowerChild's code.

Concidering how much BTW requires one to explore, this is a great add-on to make those 4000 block treks for villages way more interesting. Thanks a ton for this. Going to check it out now.
I've noticed that hardcore stratification is working fine, as well as the mineshafts tweaks (logs instead of fences). However I have yet to come across a village so here's my question: are the hardcore villages features kept as well? I guess yes, but I ask - just in case.
Anyway, great work! I'm looking forward to trying it on a server.

Yup, villages that should be abandoned are abandoned and villages that shouldn't, arn't. Structures such as desert temples are also as they should be too.
This is one of my wettest better than wolves dreams come true!!!! Seriously, this is so cool! A HUGE part of my game is mapping and exploration and I was so sick of the same biomes over and over and over.
I used to think to myself in a perfect world this mod would work with my favorite mod and now...
...CRAP!!!!
Time slows down in a high gravitational field. This fact is the pinion of my plan to destroy us all...
Very cool! Have been flying around for quite some time in creative to check out all your biomes. They look very awesome. There was just one thing, I didn't spot any wolves. Since wolves are a big part of the tech tree this could become a big issue when playing with BOP. So my question is: In what biomes in your mod do wolves spawn?
Holy crap! Thankyou! I was so sad when block ID's started overlapping between these mods.
I even tried my hand at modding to try and tease out just the vanilla-block biomes. That was a complete failure btw :)
Sometimes I think everyone else is smarter than me, then I realize everyone else is smarter then me.
I believe I found a bug. In what is apparently a volcano biome with harder stone and lava everywhere, the change to harder stone seems to be chunk based. Chunks on the border of the biome are either entirely lighter stone or entirely darker stone. This is particularly noticeable when a river cuts through the biome.
@Fret - Wolves traditionally in minecraft were meant to always spawn in cold forested areas like taiga. Basically anywhere with spruce trees. I just spawned in a biome with absolutely massive 2x2 spruce trees and there are wolves absolutely everywhere.

Yeah, i have seen that one before and it is rather annoying, decided it was a reasonable compromise though considering most of the volcano looks as it should. I'll have another peek over it later and see if i can find a solution, if not, there'll just be the odd few off ores i'm afraid :/.

You already know about how the strata blocks work right? It's just the vanilla blocks with the metadata set to 1 or 2 to represent the two other layers (2 is darkest).

Yeah, there's just an issue where the odd few ores on the outskirts of the Volcano biome aren't converted to strata, but, i *think* i know how to fix it now :)

Ah, gotcha. I think I actually encountered a similar bug on those when I first implemented the strata.
