New Release! (BTW V4.14)

Post by FlowerChild »

Version 4.14 of Better Than Wolves is ready for download!

Download Link

This release contains the following changes:

-Added a new optional game-mode (on by default) called "Hardcore Buoy". WARNING: This game mode will definitely break existing builds, as it drastically alters the way water-flow is used for item transport and filtration. However, it is much more interesting, and opens up many filtration possibilities that weren't present in the past. It may be disabled in the config file, but I strongly recommend leaving it enabled and adapting your builds, as future mod content will likely be dependent upon it.

-Added internal code for removing recipes from the Cauldron & Crucible. This should be useful to add-on mod authors.

-Added internal code for adding and removing recipes to the Mill Stone, for use by add-on mod authors.

-Changed (optimized) the way the Mill Stone works for better performance in SMP.

-Fixed smoke particle effect when the Block Dispenser dispenses a block or item.

Enjoy! :)

Well, that might be the first hint from FC I have ever understood. It must be my lucky day.

Thanks for this FC. Can't wait to figure this one out completely. :)

Right about it involving floating, dead wrong on what would actually float. Experimentation time :D This should be fun.

I can only imagine that hardcore buoy is a reference to item buoyancy. This is awesome and requires immediate lab time.

This is interesting. Guess now we may have a way to separate ingots from rotten flesh. Question to experimenters: how does this interact with water flowing over hoppers?

EDIT: Actually, we should set up a spoiler thread for discussing this. Thanks for the new stuff to experiment with FC :)

Only if he also adds a "Transmogrify: Newt" ability. From which you can recover, obviously ;)

I just want to join the chorus of people saying how cool this is. Ever since Hardcore Bucket became default, I've had a ton of fun making a new base to fully experience it. I literally just finished the mob farm, and have now spent the last ten minutes carefully monitoring its drops, rearranging hoppers, and chucking random items into the water stream. I'm having a blast. Thank you, FlowerChild!

Ok man...I just said above no spoilers in the release threads, and I'm getting increasingly frustrated with your behavior in general. Take a break.

Spent an hour reworking a build, and had to convert it to use HCB too, now it's uglier then garbage, might just start a new world.

Good job on the release man. Going to enable hardcore buoy temporarily on my server too see just how many builds are broken and if we can go around them. It's a very nice idea, but as I said with HCB, prone to new worlds =D
