New Release! (BTW V3.97)

Post by FlowerChild »

Version 3.97 of Better Than Wolves is ready for download!

Dowload Link

This release contains the following changes:

-Added upside down Wool Slabs.

-Changed netherwart to not grow in the overworld as it was just a bad design decision on Mojang's part to allow it to do so, and especially conflicts with the mod's focus on making the nether more interesting.

-Changed LAN code to be more reliable. LAN play is still not officially supported though, and is strictly "use at your own risk", but progress is being made towards supporting it in the future.

----------

This is just a very small release, mainly intended to facilitate further LAN testing.

Enjoy! :)

With each release I realise that you're more and more like Santa Claus, you provide tonnes of people with new exciting toys, and you aren't opposed to the enslavement of a lesser race to provide you with resources. Well done man you're on fire!

Inching ever closer to the magical 4.00 (which, if another troll, I will lose "it"). The suspense might just kill a few of us.

Anyways, thanks for the death to overworld Netherwart. :)

This is probably treacherous water that I shouldn't be putting my toes in, but here goes...

Does "facilitate further LAN testing" include simulated LAN networks over WAN this go round, or not?

Shot in the dark here, but no. If LAN play is not officially supported, then it is VERY doubtful that is.

Now that's what I was waiting for! My life is complete now that we can have upside down wool slabs! Ok, not quite complete, only one more thing... ^_^

Upside-down wool slabs are cool and all, but this is my favorite thing. It made no sense whatsoever that a nether-based plant could be grown in the overworld. It just seems like a way to get you to go to the nether, then just get out and stay out forever.

Famous last words.

This is great news, not only can I pimp my carpets with trippy colours, but now my ceilings. Love it! :D

Scrapping Overworld netherwart, of course. It's Netherwart, not Overworldwart. Then again maybe mojang will just rename it to Wart and call it a day...

I'm not a fan of warts in general, unpleasant experiences.

I love you FlowerChild.

Okay I know this is going to sound like a "suggestion" (trust me it's not) but couldn't you just have it that they grow only in soulsand planters because the normal dirt ones grow flowers and tall grass if felt with out anything in them, or are the soulsand ones really just for decoration/easier growing of nether based plants? Just wondering.

How is that not a suggestion? I'm curious as to your reasoning there.

I'm not sure as to my reasoning for why it is not a suggestion outside of not wanting to be banned for it. Also I was not sure how to ask you if this crossed your mind with out simply stating it.

Hehe...no, there's none in this one. Just a very straightforward release this time around, really more to do with the technical side of LAN play than anything else :)
