New Release! (Version 2.81)

Post by FlowerChild »

Version 2.81 of Better Than Wolves is ready for download!

Download Link

This version contains the following changes:

-Added custom icons for Glue and Tallow.

-Fixed problem with stoked fire returning to normal too quickly over a Hibachi.

-Reduced volume of sound-effect when Gear Box powers up.

-Cleaned up the Block Dispenser facing code. This should correct a number of problems with the facing of dispensed blocks.

-Changed the way rendering works in the Cauldron so that time spent rendering does not translate into time spent cooking, and vice versa. Also provided the rendering process with a "cooldown timer" so that if the fire beneath the cauldron is not stoked momentarily, rendering progress won't be immediately lost (although it won't progress during this time either).

-Changed a few things about the way stoked fire behaves so that blocks can be placed in it, and it will go out if the player hits it (just like regular fire).

-Added the ability to turn the Water Wheel by dropping water along its sides,

-Bellows now lift entities that are resting on them when they expand.

-------------------

Enjoy! :)

Thanks, but it's just a few tweaks and fixes, no biggy :)

Mainly, I just wanted to get the fix in for stoked fire over the Hibachis, but figured I'd throw a few other things in too since I hate going through the trouble of putting out a release just for a small thing like that ;)

It's more tweaks and fixes in a day than Mojang does in a month. Also I'm grad you managed to implement the waterwheels powered by waterfalls, I allready have few ideas how to make nice looking power sources.

Man, if there were other modders like you out there, I'd never leave my house. Your simplest bug fixes give me great ideas for overhauling my designs and making new ones. I second that round of applause. Bravo good Sir, Bravo.

Edit: Just had the idea to make a staircase out of bellows that inflates every other on a button press. I know what I'm doing for the next two hours.

What happens when there's falling water on both the left and right side of the water wheel? Does it stop spinning?

Yup. It bases its rotation on the sum of the various vectors applied to it.

Oh, back to the old update schedule eh ? :)
I didn't even had time to test the 2.80 for real yet !
As always, faster and more efficient on you own than Mojang. Thanks for that :)

You're most welcome man :)

Yeah, now that the Yogaboo invasion is finally at an end (and all the distractions it caused0, thanks to this new forum we have, and with the majority of the Platform/Pulley issues resolved, I can get back to "business as usual" and continue pumping out the updates ;)

Anyways, I'm both please with how things are going and very excited about what's to come over the next couple of updates :)

Same here :)
I'm pretty sure I know where you're going with the bellows, but I'm still scratching my head on the hilt ^^
Musical hint maybe ? ;)

The only thing that comes to mind is a mace but I don't see new weapons as where you have been taking BTW. As always keep up the good work.

How about a hammer forge? Fits with the bellows and automation of resource processing required for technological advancement.

All I can think is flail. Flail and wrecking ball. Or perhaps... Could it be... balloons? Stoked-flame balloons, perhaps? Or bellows-driven?
Abracadabra, you're an idiot.

Nah guys, I just love torturing you. That song has absolutely nothing to do with an upcoming release, but I thought it was a hysterical one for y'all to be analyzing ;)

No way I'm giving away anything more about what's coming in the next few releases :)

Nice! You finally got the waterwheel to accept water from the sides! This will help with the general aesthetics of building with one!

So, I haven't tested this yet, but how exactly does the BD face dispensed blocks now? Do they face the same way the BD is facing? That's how I've often wished they worked.

Based on that video;

BTW Version 2.82:

- Change recipe for glue, now require 6 bones.
- Added smaller windmill, but has provides less power.
- BTW will now murder you and your family when loaded.
- Companion Cubes now poop as well.

My only modification to that list would be:

"- Changed recipe for glue, now requires 6 bones...and you can sniff it."

Ok guys, now I feel really bad about giving you two false hints.

Here, this one is really for real this time:

Right, well obviously we can expect wheeled transport, so minecarts.
Crying means salt water, like what you'd have in an ocean.
Lapdance is tough, but wolves, like all dogs, can "lap" as an adjective, and dancing can refer to any repetitive motion, especially in animal terms.
Redneck could be literal - a red-coloured neck.

THUS!

Next update will include the ability to make wolf murder farms, by putting them on minecarts and sending them into the ocean.
