Made sure I didn't make that kind of error, which already happened in the past, but now I can confirm I did it right... (even tried the wrong way to see if I had any luck :/)

That does imply that there's been some mixup of ConfigFile.class with the Client version, because i did indeed account for Minecraft.class not being on the server... Fun times :/.

Thanks for the clue, found out that if I use your 'boppatcher.jar', it mixes up stuff,
Fixed it by moving files from the 'nonbtwedits' folder to my patched.zip and then used it and it worked fine...

So I guess the patch is doing its job of preparing btw classes,
But it gets confused when adding your files to the pack.

Edit: I'm guessing a 'Copy/Paste Code' error where you didn't fix the path to the 'server-jar' because the client version worked just fine without modification.

Re-Edit: Ok I guess it didn't fix it properly cause I'm still getting an error upon player login, maybe BTW classes didn't get patched correctly.

I'll let you handle this sir, You are making a much better job than I can do,
I'm only a beginner, and so far, no luck :/
But I intend to learn more in my next few years of school :)
Hopefully someday I'll be helpful :P
Anyways, Thanks for the great work!

Updated to the latest BTW, also should have the serverside fixed, or alternatively broke the patcher completely - either way :)

Arghh :(
I'm still getting errors,
Though upon new world generation it looks fine, but I can't use the latest version on my existing world, which has it installed over a v4.89112 of BTW, and it works like a charm,
The thing is when it comes to loading chunks containing some BTW stuff the server crashes, stops loading further chunks, and simply stops responding after few seconds.
The error log goes like this

Of course, it would be useful to mention that this error only happens when I use BoP along with BTW, so I guessed the source of the bug was somewhere close.

Changing enableCustomContent=true to false in the main.cfg file fixes the client crash for me. Probably could fix the server error to. but i'am not sure.

Somehow I'm thinking that the patch files may not be working properly.

Re: [1.5.2] [4.891124] Biomes O' Plenty 0.1.2A - BTW Edition

Post by Adubbz »

Actually, he's right. Remove your config folder, start the server (let it crash) and then enable custom content after that. Those crashes both indicate that the issue is because i've left in code that has dependancies on custom content without checking if it's enabled or not :S They're not something that would be caused by a failed patch by the looks of things.

Fraid even with a fresh install of the server using exactly what i've given you folks, BOP worldtype enabled and all, absolutely no problems whatsoever. So i'm unsure as to why it's happening to you, especially with the crash being what you mentioned.

So I guess I would need to scrap my whole world to start from scratch?!
Well, I don't get how and why it is broken on the current world while it works perfectly on 4.89112 with the same exact setup..
Are we no longer able to have crucibles or hoppers containing stuff upon chunk loading?
Or is it something related to your patches?.. One thing sure : BTW Works Perfectly Alone!
Have you even tried on an existing world (with all the tech) to see if it still works?
I just can't update as I wish, so I guess I'll leave this mod.. for a while...
Thanks anyway for the support.

EDIT :
Well,
Stop anything you're doing! it is working on my Server computer but it isn't on my Test computer.. da Fuq?!
I don't get it, but let's say, Thanks Windows 8! :/
Strange though, it never happened before.

Haven't said anything, it happened again :(

Update :
Here's what I can make of the last try :

1st. Tried Stoking a fire, didn't see stoked fire animation;
2nd. Tried the crucible/cauldron over a fire, stoked or not;
3rd. The bug Happened when I tried to add mystery mead to the stoked crucible.. again, couldn't see the stoked fire animation or the crucible GUI flames.
Yay! Another Crash

Really sorry about that man, fraid there's not much else i can do if it's not happening here :/
I'll mess with it some more on the weekend, but i understand if you've given up on the mod because of it. I'l spend my morning on it :P

EDIT: I have one last idea, may/may not fix it, but we'll have to see anyway

Try this, if it doesn't work/there's a new crash let me know. It may not fix the visual issues, but it *should* fix that crash.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/566 ... versal.zip

If i can't get it to work, i might consider throwing in the towel with regards to this add-on, it's starting to get to a point where it's causing more grief than joy to both myself and you guys. :/
This being one of the reasons i only used vanilla blocks in the first place, in fear of something going majorly wrong and leaving people to use their old worlds with plain BTW.

Thanks very much for the time spent helping me out,
Now I don't fear putting this on my server causing instability :)
You are a Genius :P

P.S.: Yeah the visual Stoked fire doesn't work, so I hope people will be careful and listen for bellows.. lol

Turns out BioLogisch has fixed everything from a PR which I just merged from my phone. Will have an updated release tonight that should fix the remainder of your issues. Heck, might even be motivated enough to start on saplings before the weekend :)

For those wondering, I will be adding support for the research bench adding eventually: Just a matter of getting all the custom things in first.

I was wondering if we could work together on a version of my deco add-on that would work with BOP(or vice versa), with generating flowers, cherry trees, and other stuff. I was already planning on adding more vegetation. I also had an idea for at third type of village with paper walls/paper lanterns from the deco addon. Or are you just doing ports from the original BOP?

Edit: in fact, I was already planning on adding a few goodies from original BOP myself. And I realized a little while ago that my add-on was sort of sloppily thrown together, so I've fixed that.

most of us know how to install mods (I HOPE!) so why do we need a patcher? is there any reason you aren't just distributing the mod files?

As both this and BTW modify world gen, I'm pretty sure the patcher is to allow BoP files to be combined with BTW files so FC's code isn't redistributed.

Yeah, don't add stuff from the original BOP, since that's what I'm currently doing myself. Plus, considering I also develop Forge BOP, better off leaving it to me too :P

With regards to a version of your deco addon that works with BOP, I'll happily work with you on it by all means, although, I'd prefer keeping it seperate from the BOP internals (which may mean, I'll need to make the patcher more open sooner than I expected). Also, one thing I will point out, BOP already adds cherry trees and i certainly won't be cutting them out. So, it's up to you how you want to handle that, but, overlaps are never good.

Another thing to mention is that while it is mostly a direct port, adaption will/has been done to make it suitable for BTW (such as the addition of bark, altered recipes etc. that is currently in place for my custom wood if you enable custom content)

Honestly I had no idea you were part of the forge team, I thought you were just doing a port.
When I said I was thinking about adding a few things from BOP, I didn't mean stealing them, just that I had things planned that were also in BOP.(IE I was also gonna do some white cherry trees and some sort of mud or silt.)
So now that you've said this, what I'll do(if I ever get to it) is make my add on mesh with yours so that if the player has BOP installed it will organize the overlaps on it's own.
I'm not going to ask you to help me out because you've obviously got your hands full, and now I even feel bad for asking about it.
