Oh, whoops, now that I go back and read it again I realize it was stated pretty clearly in the first post too that it's possible to break stumps with enough effort. I'm not sure how I got the idea that there was a consensus that they're unbreakable. Sorry about that!

I've noticed that I *can* punch through stumps, given enough time (takes ~20 seconds or so). This makes sense and is consistent with other blocks that you can't destroy, like punching through stone, but I didn't see anyone else mention it here so I'm not sure if this is actually an intended feature ...

You have to till a grass block to have a chance of finding hemp seeds, but I don't think your elevation matters at all.

Any mob that has the ability to pick up items won't despawn if it's holding something it picked up. (I once had a zombie holding wool trapped in a pool by my base for many a minecraft week before I accidentally fell in and it killed me.) You might go ahead and try opening it with the newest version of BTW--just make sure to back it up first just in case. With durability less than wood tools, though, I really don't think it's worth it. And while gold is faster and more enchantable than diamond, in BTW we have SFS as well. I'm not sure how it compares to gold in terms of speed, but I'm pretty sure SFS's enchantability is just as good as gold's.

Have you had your world in creative mode at any point? I'm pretty sure FC made it so that if you have, all villager xp and levelling gets disabled (even if you change back to survival). I'm not completely sure on that though.

Confirmed in version 4.99999A0C Marsupial?! survival mode, only happens when mining charges are blown up with powder kegs, not other mining charges. (Specifically, the mining charge explodes and then leaves that ghost behind; reloading the world causes it to disappear.)
