Re: Possible BD exploit with 'unplaceable' blocks

Using that pumpkin farm may not be the best example as you could just as easily (and more cheaply) hook up a clock to do the same. The use of this design is that it, by itself, stops the loop; while being very small and compact. Hooking up a clock nullifies the aspect of its small size, as it would...

This is a relief as i assumed the vMC wiki was accurate. Thanks for the information. although they usually do not spawn in fortresses generated before their introduction http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Wither_Skeleton#Spawning Just a guess, but that may be because where fortresses were generated ...

Automatic night/rain skipper for creative mode

Using the light detection capabilities of a lens and DB together with the minecraft command blocks, you can make an automatic night/rain skipper for your creative mode worlds, so you can work in uninterrupted sunshine! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11826512/nightSkipper2.png If you make a tunnel to the le...

Make DB redstone interaction consistent with other blocks

I was debating whether to post this in Bug Reports, but I admit it's probably closer to just a suggestion. The detector block can transmit redstone power like other solid blocks, but in certain cases, it doesn't, when other solid blocks do. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11826512/DBredstoneInteraction.png ...

You're spinning the pottery on a buddy block on top of a turntable? Man, that is just awesome... The spinning buddy block takes the place of a second counter BD, and it's nice and compact! Very cool design, I like it!

Re: Design Discussion: The Nuking of maps

I would be sad to see maps go. They are really quite nice for getting a feel for the surrounding terrain. I honestly wouldn't mind the removal of the indicators, as they become especially annoying on maps in item frames, or reducing how far Steve can "see" when filling in a map. Reducing t...

Methinks there should be links to the various hibachi powering threads here on the wiki page. Maybe copy some of the screenshots across too, and put them on the page. Maybe I could do this... Can I be whitelisted? I don't know how often I would be able to be on, what with classes and all, but since Jade's server closed, I don't currently have anywhere else to play anarchy, and it would be an honor to be able to play on the official BTW anarchy server. EDIT: I just now realized that I did...

Both because the Kiln is a rather underutilized and interesting processing method (the Stewing Pot on the other hand is used for a ton of stuff), and because it parallels one ancient method: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulfur Sulfur may be found by itself and historically was usually obtained in t...

Re: (SPOILER) hardcore explosives (SPOILER)

Yeah, as mentioned being able to process Endstone in a Crucible is a bug, and represents and oversight on my part. That will be corrected in the next release, so it's worth noting that if you're setting up any kind of automatic production line, you'll want to base it around a Kiln instead. There wa...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.22)

It's not a bug, and it was actually a bug that it was showing anything to begin with. Mob spawns (i.e. Endermen) in the End are NOT dependent on light-levels. They can spawn wherever there is space, and that applies to the Nether as well. Really? I've covered most of the End in my world in torches,...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.22)

I've been having a lot of fun figuring out the new features of this release (white cobble looks pretty cool btw), but I have one question. Is it intentional that the ender spectacles no longer show where mobs can spawn in the End? They still work in the overworld, but they don't show particles in da...

I've seen endermen holding endstone in the overworld, and they thunder and disappear there too. They also only seem to take blocks from corners, where they won't leave obvious holes :) Another thing. If you look at one enderman, not only will it aggro on you, but all the endermen in the area will ag...

Hehe...yeah, I don't think it will come as a surprise to anyone that one of the first changes I made to the Endermen was to cause them to drop the block they are carrying upon death. What I do know is that redstone dust is already this exception. Placing redstone dust next to a buddy will not set it off, so by making the landmine a tiny bit bigger, it is possible to make when using redstone.

Re: Stake Discussion Thread [Spoilers?]

As you might imagine the max distance it'll work is 64 blocks. So holding 2 stacks of string in your hand while placing the stake will only take string from one stack? (provided you walk further than 64 blocks) If you only have 24 string in your hand when you click the stake, it will only go max 24...
