Aesthetic Request for separate UIs for Anvil/Work Stump
So since the work stump and the anvil are two very different blocks, I'd like to request (as titled) for separate UI files for the two. Purely for aesthetic reasons. The workbench UI texture in my pack features a graphical representation of a wooden workbench with a saw on it and some nails etc. I'd...

Re: New Release! (BTW 4.ABCEEEEF) - NO SPOILERS
Well, there was actually. Yeah sorry I actually knew that (That's what we've been using as a substitute, the trap doors), but you know what I mean, window windows hehe. Oh wow, thanks dude. I really don't have any confidence in my (non-existant) art skills, so I appreciate that :) Yeah I see how th...

Re: New Release! (BTW 4.ABCEEEEF) - NO SPOILERS
Until a week ago I didn't even know you could get planks from an iron axe (i hadnt been that far yet) so I already thought chests we're gated behind a saw. However I'm going to have to destroy the chests in our new little compound. First the spider spawner, now this haha. Loving the changes to bring...

Re: Early Game Tips (First week or so)
I've found that one other person is perfectly viable. I've actually found that the sweet spot is around 3-4 people, you can still comfortably manage hunger quite nicely and the advantage of the added bodies far outweigh the drawbacks. Once you go any higher though you start to notice really it, and ...

Re: Early Game Tips (First week or so)
Axe: An axe gives access to planks. This means better storage, crafting tables wherever you want, easier access to wood, and a better weapon. This option gives more safety and versatility, and is usually what I go for. Definitely a good point and if I were playing single player I'd almost certainly...

Early Game Tips (First week or so)
I replied to the observations thread and it just seemed like a bit of a mess, then I noticed in the first two pages of the forum there doesn't seem to be a cohesive self contained mini guide for early game since all the changes. So since I've just started a server with 10 people, I thought I'd weigh...

Re: Observations on Hunting, Wood, and Hunger Investment
Unless you're discovering the mod for the first time and you're exploring it without using any external help, then you should definitely have clay baking in the sun by day 3-4 if not before. I managed to get 16 clay cooking on the second day in my recent playthrough by just digging a rudimentary 4x4...

I hate getting gamey myself so my recommendation would be to build a few stone pillars around your town/base

I'm still in the stone age myself but logically it seems to me the best and least dangerous way to sustainable food is hoe, hemp seeds, chickens

That's great and all (and intriguing), but I'm still breaking our spawner >:)FlowerChild wrote: Anyways, there's solutions to all this, it's just become a bit bigger than anticipated with the addition of the skeleton variable, so I might not get on it right away.

Spiders from Spawners drop string
I started a new world the other night with 8 other people and we found a spider spawner close to the surface in the first in game week. It's pretty much solved all our string problems and it feels off to me. The lads were joking that I'd make a forum post about it because I'm so anal about anything ...

Re: Anyone still use the config file?
Well I can't speak for other Texture Pack artists but it's certainly helpful for me to have a block ID reference if you can add that automatic output, but not having it isn't going to hinder me so feel free to axe it if it saves time

Re: Anyone still use the config file?
I sometimes refer to it for block ID's of the new features and blocks you add to the mod (I'm not sure if you're talking about not adding future ones there or not), but I could probably do without them if it's going to save you time

fcOverlayLogEmbers not used?
Hello! I seem to have encountered a texture problem. The new smouldering logs seem to be using the fcOverlayEmbers which were put in for the smouldering campfire and not the fcOverlayLogEmbers that has recently been added. Since the latter exists, I assumed it was meant to be used instead of the for...

Re: Random deleted chunks
When updating a server you must shut down the server BEFORE you start messing around with the jar. If you don't do this you can get chunk errors and resetting (It happened to my server once when I neglected to shut it down before updating. I had to restore from a back up). I'm not saying this is def...

Ah I remember a friend of mine having a problem with smooth lighting. I think it came down to the version of Java he was using. I think he downgraded to java 7 64bit, but I don't remember. I use Java 7 because of various problems I've had with v8. Might want to try that? He isn't online at the mo ot...

Hmmm well I'm not sure why it's only showing up with the recent versions of BTW. However, I didn't notice any problems myself when I had a quick look. Diamond axe looked perfectly fine to me, as did the furnace fuel. I took a look at the textures in your pack that dawnraider mentioned and the brick ...

Perhaps you should update the launcher then. It sounds as though you're running some old versions and is most likely resulting in the problem you're having. Especially considering none of us are having the same problem.

I'm working on campfire smouldering textures for the new release of BTW and I've done some quick testing, no problems on my end and my campfire is pretty much as CTM'd as it can get
