Re: Noir's Designs and Videos (Illogically Compact!)
Alright ion Ill take a closer look soon.
And for anyone wondering about the sheep sorter I've found it'll certainly be possible but not easy so it might be a bit before I have a design out.

Buddy blocks don't react to changes in string
So at present string block updates can be triggered without tripwire hooks, allowing for some pretty shady stuff. I don't expect that many people are even aware of this behavior but tripwire (string blocks) cause block updates when entities pass, allowing you to do, like I said, some shady stuff. Wa...

I had assumed you were the master mind behind don't starve, but yeah it does seem plausible at the very least.
Actually yeah I wouldn't be surprised.

Re: Noir's Designs and Videos (Illogically Compact!)
I had a crazy idea for a sheep sorting device just now using block dispensers to sheer and check colors of sheep.
I'll see about trying to make one later today ^.^

Buddy Blocks don't update redstone wire after powering it
So I found this bug a day or two ago and I wasn't sure exactly how to describe it. Basically what happens is when you have a buddy block powering a solid block and turning on redstone dust, if you remove the buddy block before it depowers it will create a BUD with the redstone dust. I've confirmed t...

Re: Can't Find Any Squid
I did tests and you absolutely can use one source block, you have to extend it out though.
Dunno man, keep on trying, my squid farm works, so I'm sorry I couldn't be more help.

Re: Can't Find Any Squid
Yeah it seems like they can't spawn in a 1 deep area, minimum is about 4x4x4.

Re: Can't Find Any Squid
Huh? Weird.
I'm not sure then, I might go do some more tests and see what the deal is but I could have sworn they wouldn't spawn in 1 deep water.

I'm not sure what the exact specifications are, but that should work yes.
Have vine traps or the like at the bottom and funnel them down or pave the floor with hoppers.

Re: Can't Find Any Squid
From what I've seen squid need about a 8x8x4 area of water (not source blocks just water blocks) to spawn, and can spawn in any biome except mushroom islands.
And squids will spawn and despawn similarly to hostile mobs (with different spawning restrictions)

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
It's not that, it's the fact that the BUD glitch will affect many piston circuits in general. Diagonally powering it still triggers a BUD glitch, but most of the methods of updating have been stripped (at least from what I have played of the snapshot which might have changed) So it will definitely h...

Automatic large mushroom farming?
So this is going to sound absolutely absurd, but has anyone been able to make a pusher style large mushroom farm using block dispensers? I'm interested to see if it has ever been done before, and hopefully if it has I can get some idea of how I might want to make my own. (I want to build one in my w...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
Yeah, reading over the change logs it seems like I'll have my work cut out for me in regards to fixing (or being forced to abandon) various builds, I'm especially bitter about the "BUD glitch fix" and the "Redstones circuits are more *consistent*." I can hardly imagine what it wi...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
The pre-release is out....aaaannnd they couldn't have done much worse by me if they tried.
My biggest gripe is probably the large amount of so called "bugfixes" which will break countless builds (including a few of mine unfortunately)
*sigh*
