It's not even that much. It just returns nuggets, not ingots, which is still what you get from gold ore.someonetobe wrote:By saving you 8 pick endurance and 1 coal (xWood) for 8 gold.

Re: BTW V4.72T: Hardcore Stratification test release
Man, this is really cool. I love how there is a progression to bedrock now, instead of suddenly running into a layer of unbreakable material out of the blue. The different layers really give you the feeling that you are delving deep underground. Redstone looks really cool in the dark stone, and so d...

Re: Candy box (javascript game)
So I finally beat the game and restarted under hardmode. I'm pretty sure that hardmode is practically impossible, but I'd love to hear if anyone else might have better luck at it than me. Much of the game is the same, however a few key things have been changed, such as: Oh, also a spoiler I found f...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.70)
This looks like it will be fun...
Can't say I understand the creeper oysters in the diamond ingot recipe, but I'm liking the idea of diamond tools/armor being an alloy of diamond and iron.
The leather changes sound wonderful. Can't wait to try them out.
Anyway, thanks for the release!

Does anyone know how to beat yourself? I've tried using every potion I had, but myself did the same exact thing, which results in me dying at the exact moment I beat myself. X-x I get i'm fighting myself, but how do I get myself to stop attacking myself? I couldn't teleport or summon an imp or anyt...

No, I didn't even know they existed. I've only just now gotten to the Developper's garden, with little idea how to get past it.

Strategy I used. Don't look if you like to figure this things by yourself. I used invencibility potions and teleport scrolls. I drink one potion when I touch the dragon. When it's effect is over i use teleport scrolls to be out of reach of the dragon until I can drink another potion. I found a slig...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
I really hope they add a save-folder-switching feature so that each version folder would get its own save folder, but I'm kind of suspecting they won't. Currently I use a different ".minecraft" folder for every mod/version I play, which has the bonus of keeping all my save files separate ...

Re: Problems getting the BTWConfig to work on my Mac
Where exactly are you putting the config file? It needs to be placed in the ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/ folder. It wasn't totally clear from your post if this is where you were putting it. Also, are you sure you have the latest version? There was a problem with loading the config file ...

Re: What mods are people still using with BTW?
I still use some of Risugami's that I always grab at the same time I grab modloader, like recipebook, biospheres, and shelves, but I rarely actually use them. I'll take a peak at the recipe book at times, but I don't think I even have a shelf made right now, and I haven't made a biosphere world in q...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.66) [*** NO SPOILERS ***]
Because I've been busy doing other things, I haven't actually played BTW since before 4.65, until a few minutes ago, when I just experienced the beginning of the new early game for the first time while playing around in a newly BTW'd installation of 1.5. Obviously I'm not going to go into any detail...

This looks great! Can't wait to try it out. Unfortunately, that may have to wait until the school year is over... things are starting to get busy... and I should probably stop procrastinating... :P
Anyway, Cheers on getting another great release out, despite all the doom-sayers!

I was into text based adventure games in the early days... that's all we had, really, aside from four or five variants on Pong. These days, I don't because the room is still spinning very gently round my head. Or at least it would be if I could see it which I can't. It is pitch black. To this day I...

Re: Vanilla Feature court - Session 1 - Analog Redstone
My thoughts on the matter are that the effects of a redstone signal shouldn't vary depending on their power level. Redstone has had different "power levels" from the beginning, but they didn't have any effect other than limiting redstone distance. If we think about redstone the way FC has ...

Wow, man. That's impressive. May I ask, what does lime wool outline? Well, in the first picture, it was just what I used for the edge of a module, and shows up elsewhere because I used MCedit to copypaste the first couple of modules I made to fill the whole 16. In that picture it's just kind of a d...

Re: Opinions on possible redstone features
Yeah, I realize that these kinds of things can be the first on a slippery slope, but I don't think I would ever do anything more than the two things I mentioned if I ever decided to actually make and maintain a mod of this sort. These two features just seem to come naturally from what's already ther...

Opinions on possible redstone features
So, tonight I felt like playing around with the minecraft code base a little bit, and modified the repeater code to make a one-block redstone inverter. Seeing it in action, it makes sense, and seems to fit in with everything else, but I decided I'd get opinions from a community where I know there ar...

Heh. It seems like such a short time ago that we were all getting excited about the Anniversary Release of BTW. It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since then. That release may have been pushed all the way to an entirely new game, but the things we've gotten in the mean time have more than m...
