Re: HarvesteR steps down as KSP lead dev

That's more or less how it happened. There was a post ages ago explaining it, but basically there was a policy where the firm would help their employees do one thing they really wanted to do - in Felipe's case, that was make KSP. I know how caustic "inbred" entreprise's enviroment can get...

Re: HarvesteR steps down as KSP lead dev

@FC You are a man with a history in games develpment. Did you experienced harsh conditions or underpaid work in the industry? This thing with Harv reminded me of Alex St. John's infamous rants about sacrifice and stuff.

Re: Hodor!!!!! - Game of Thrones spoilers

I highly recommend fargo for anyone who likes to feel unsafe about their favorite characters and enjoys a good dose of moral ambiguity. Season 2 is out now and you dont "need" the first one, although its worth watching. Plus nick goddamn Offerman, my role model. My theory on it is that if ...

Re: Hodor!!!!! - Game of Thrones spoilers

Yeah, I was thinking of it a bit more, and there are certainly other black and white factions within the world, like the Boltons, or even the wights for that matter, but none of the others are really primary characters in the way the Greyjoys are. I think it's a combination of too prominent a role ...

Re: Hodor!!!!! - Game of Thrones spoilers

Yeah, I think that's it. Everything in these books is a shade of grey, which is one of the things I find so awesome about them. Even the Lannisters are fiercely loyal within their own family, as despicable as they can be to everyone else. The Iron Born though, just don't seem to have any positive a...

Re: Hodor!!!!! - Game of Thrones spoilers

I was always afraid the show was as good as its source material and that was it. It feels like this season is the showrunner's debutante ball, im fucking loving it! The only gripe i have is how Euron Greyjoy is portrayed. In the books he's a misterious mystical badass with a slave boat and magic ite...

@Gil my mind went straight to the incremental cookie games we had a topic on. If you think about it the whole game is based on making the flow go faster. @Devak I may be wrong but isnt entropy the destruction of complex interactions forcing a system to a "Status Quo"? The way i understood ...

Trailer was really weird. I know right? Its not a bad trailer but it plays like a fever dream and to me DoW was always very sober even when dealing with demons and shit. but looking at the screenshots and "super walker" descriptor, looks like they aren't actually Titans ;) Those are "...

I actually got stuck on my first playthrough (no master key) trying to find that same door, and had to look it up. Re: The Souls series

I heard the console frame rate in Blighttown is horrible. Is it? Its like walking in poisonous mud while blighted barbarians throw giant rocks at you, but in slow motion. If you don't find it naturally, look up how to find "Ash Lake" sometime. It's easily missed and worth finding. Maybe i...

It crept into me, like poison in my veins. A smile. As the Capra Demon fell to his knees I felt the rush of victory and the shame of realization. I'm enjoying this, I thought to myself. Why on earth am I enjoying this? I sleep on it for a while. Restarted my Char cuz i was not making a lot of progre...

I feel like I've gotten too excited and too burned about too many games with too grand visions. I feel nothing. There's been a surge of space-themed colonization games for a year now. The Souls series

So Dark Souls 3 came out and every youtube, twitch, blog, forum, reddit and friend i have keeps fucking bringing it up as the most amazing "pure game" experience they ever played since Dark Souls. I got to admit I was a bit curious about the Souls series since Bloodborn launched, but refus...

Re: Game Design - Incremental Games

Funny that the same basics that make clicker games so addictive is part of the reason why RPG "elements" show up in nearly every modern genre. Progress bars, lvl ups, unlocks and geometric progression on nearly every numeric indicator of progress (life, dmg, exp). Its addicting to see numb...

No one says that means you can't eat anything else anymore, but that means I can replace all the boring meals with something quick and only eat proper meals when I feel like it (restaurants, dinner parties, etc). Thats what i worry about. People are loosing the connection with the food they eat. Th...

Re: Soylent (But not green)

Im not a big fan of this kind of replacement cousine. I get the appeal, but cooking and tasting is such a integral part of what makes us people, it makes me kinda unconfortable that people try to replace it with ready-to-go meals. Seems so souless to feed on something that nobody made.

Re: Arcen Games in trouble, again

It can be really hard to explain an Arcen game, let alone show how great they are. They just don't have that same feedback other games have. It just not as easy to play in the short span Youtubers use, without studying the game a lot before hand. So most don't bother trying as they are too busy pla...

Re: Arcen Games in trouble, again

The largest issue Arcen games has is mostly in marketing. They just don't keep up with marketing after release, and generally don't get involved with the press. He needs to get out there and do some PR. Hell I would love to see Chris do a GDC panel I agree. I didnt even knew they launched another g...
