Re: Ore Distribution Mods

By the look of the BOD thread on forums the author is trying to develop a new generation model with a central node of ore with vein offshoots.

I like aspects of both and cant decide between the 2 or to stick with standard ore generation.

Ore Distribution Mods

I am considering using an ore distribution mod in my new world but am abit unsure how it will play out in the long-run. The main ones i have looked into are B.O.D and C.O.G. I was looking for some feedback from anyone who uses these mods or a similar mod. As i understand it in the initial game findi...

Re: New world for 1.3? What do you think of large biomes?

I think i have always been stuck in the minecraft alpha view of not becoming attached to my world and have restarted many times. Some kind of MC world ADD.

Re: New world for 1.3? What do you think of large biomes?

Yeah it wont hinder progression through the tech tree.

Even before any BTW use for the mushroom biome i was always drawn to find one in my world to add Mooshrooms to my collection. And the cow>mooshroom mutating change made that much more pleasant than it was originally.

Re: New world for 1.3? What do you think of large biomes?

The addition of Mycelium as a recipe item also scares me abit with regards to large biomes, but if if it isnt a challenge then its no fun.

(Can someone please remind me of this sentiment when i have gone raving mad from searching for a Mushroom biome)

This. In a snapshot i built a house on a hill in a taiga biome. When it began snowing i found myself wanting to go inside by the fire i had built.

Re: New world for 1.3? What do you think of large biomes?

I was thinking about starting a new world with 1.3 using large biomes, then with the death of BTB i am definitely going to.

I like the idea of only seeing one terrain type in every direction. Always bugged me seeing lots of different biomes in close vicinity.

No just a complete guess on my part. Just seems quite logical and might be why we havent heard of anyone finding any of these scrolls yet.

Re: [SPOILERS] 3.80 feature discovery thread

If the scrolls represent knowledge, then only way to gain knowledge on fortune, efficiency and unbreaking would be by actually mining. So maybe these scrolls are rarely dropped along with ores. In 1.3 mining ores gives experience so maybe we will also acquire scrolls (knowledge) on how to use this ex...

Re: [SPOILERS] 3.80 feature discovery thread

Not tried the multiple enchantment bit yet but they are not used up on use. So once you have one you wont need it again.

A great addition to the mod and the need to hunt different mobs for different scrolls is genius.

FC does it again.

Confirmed smite is a zombie drop.

So we can assume:

Smite - Zombie
Blast Protection - Creeper
Projectile Protection - Skeleton

Loaded Chunks

Does anyone know how many chunks around the player are loaded in SSP. I found some information on SMP that an area of 21x21 chunks are loaded around the player so 10 in each direction but cant seem to find anything for single player. Secondly are there any tools to extend this, does optifine have a ...
