JP4 got postponed again. If we're lucky the director might change his mind about the feathers by the time the project gets back on its feet
I'm not getting my hopes up, but that'd be great.

Re: Walking with Dinosaurs trailer

Intelligent use of puppetry usually trumps CGI, but I appreciate the consistency that having this be entirely CGI will bring.

Less painfully obvious CGI models running through live action backgrounds, as was often the case in the original Walking with Dinosaurs, and even Jurassic Park sometimes.

Re: Happy BTW day everyone!

Here's to two years of a superior game experience! Thanks Flowerchild, for all the hard work, irreverence, design skill, and general-putting-up-with-shit-ness that went into making this game on top of a game. You've given me a lot to think about since I started lurking here, man, and I've enjoyed th...

Re: Graphic novels/comic books - give a noob some recommenda

There's alot of good webcomic graphic novels out there. I'd recommend, off hand, Riceboy, for weird fantasy, Dresden Codak, for trans-human sciency- on that note, my fiance is a big fan of Girl Genius, if you're a fan of steampunk. As far as the superhero genera goes, I'm not a huge fan, but Superm...

Re: Graphic novels/comic books - give a noob some recommenda

IDW's current Transformers Ongoings, More than Meets the Eye and Robots in Disguise are both a blast, I'd highly recommend both. MtMtE is a pathos-filled, character driven story about a crew on a quest to find the Knights of Cybertron, while RiD deals with Post-War Cybertron and trying to rebuild th...

Re: Speculating on BTW's story and narrative.

I imagine Steve's arrival caused a mind-warping wave on the local villages, causing them to go crazy, leading them to abandon their religion(The knocked out church windows), their crops(The abandoned farmland), and ultimately the village themselves(The villages being empty), leading to their deaths ...

Re: HCH is brilliant

I couldn't agree more with BobSling. Hardcore Hunger has rekindled my desire to play Minecraft again. The added health effects were a truly surprising and exciting addition, too. Before HCH, taking on three spiders is child's play, but the debilitating effects of low health soon proved that assumpti...

Re: The potential of lighting

What if we looked at this the other way around? What if, instead of making light sources weaker, one introduced *dark* sources? As in, a mob or something else that lowers light levels around it in the same way that torches raise light levels? Imagine a creature that, instead of attacking you direct...

I'd like the hopper to put out a redstone signal when it's full, otherwise it seems pretty great for a vMC hopper.

To me, when BTW took away beds(Or whenever you install it for the first time) is about when Steve realized there's no way he'd be able to rescue the world he used to live in. It's the start of his mental collapse and slow spiral into insanity, leading up to rigging up "The Device" in a doo...

I'd have to give it to Ash, myself, he's the one I have the greater emotional attachment to, since I never played the original Red/Blue, and I tend to like the later games a lot more than the earlier ones anyways.

Re: Quick HCB question

I was wandering around my world when I suddenly had the urge to cook some stone in large quantities. I thought the best way to do this would be a Lava bucket since you can get a full stack on one bucket. I proceeded to a local lava pool and found out that lava is no longer collectable with a bucket...

Re: Quick HCB question

With Hardcore Buckets mode enabled, you can only move lava by digging aqueducts(Taking a step down every three blocks from the source.), and you cannot raise them up with screw pumps. In order to make say, a smooth stone generator, or a cracked stone brick generator, you'd have to find a lava source...

Re: Move items from BD to world without player involvmenet?

If I recall correctly, BDs used to drop their inventories like chests/chest carts do, but this was exploited to create ridiculously fast and efficient cobble/ice farms, and BDs were changed to delete their inventories when sucked into another BD in order to remove the exploit.
