Re: X-COM Long War Mod
I was going to try this last night but the download link seems to be broken. So far the thing that concerns me is that they took away the choice of what abduction site to go to. So either the completely and totally changed the strategic game to give some other meaningful limitation to the player or...

Re: X-COM Long War Mod
Wow, just poured over the details of this mod and it does look very interesting. A whole lot more cost / benefit stuff to think about and what looks like multiple valid strategies in terms of soldier and squad setups. I did love the base game, but one thing I would fault it on would be certain abili...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
Fantastic/alien terrain adds a unique touch of eeriness to the world that really sets off that "stranger in a strange land" feel that I think Minecraft has been missing for a long time. This again highlights the temporary nature of 'fresh new' terrain gen. I remember back when the previou...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of July 22nd)
If you have managed to stomp that well-hook bug, that is quite incredible. I had seen it several times just in the last week, both in my own play and in watching LPs. Every time it would pull me out of the game and leave me annoyed at the fact my game doesn't even know where I am. Thank you sir.

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
Surprisingly, i found those new 2 blocks high flower bushes to be quite good looking. They don't really have any gameplay value, but whatever. Amusing thing I saw on reddit the other day, tall flowers and grass actually break line of sight for mobs, so if ever in danger you can pop a bonemeal down,...

Re: Hardcore Headwear SPOILERS
Since this is a spoiler thread, I'll drop a few more spoilers about my experiences with the new changes. The main noticeable difference I've seen is that during the day the squid seem to swim down to the bottom where it is dark, and then right around sunset they all begin to rise. Which is kind of t...

Wrapped up those little fixes people have mentioned and just changed the golden carrot back to default without changing the melon. I also finally decided how how I wanted to do the arcane scrolls, and rearranged some of the anvil stuff in conjunction with this. Release can be downloaded here: ==>> R...

Re: Auto-kiln build help
The problem I've encountered with timer based kilns is with the loading and unloading of chunks. I'm not sure if it is cook times on things in kilns resetting or just parts of the machine being loaded at different times or what, but sometimes this leads to uncooked things getting incorrectly pushed ...

Re: Auto-kiln build help
Sounds like what is going on is when the detector is powering the line of redstone, the BD and pistons are getting powered at the same moment. This means the the extended piston is in front of the BD as it tries to dispense, so it can't dispense. What might work is to delay the power getting to the ...

On the other, I just spent three days installing BTW on a friends computer (purely through text instructions) and they'll never agree to multiplayer if I tell th...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
Dinnerbone said this a little while ago. "Lily pads are a renewable resource in 1.7. Not through bonemeal or any farmable means though." first oceans get nerfed, and now there's almost no reason to go to swamps anymore. I'm sad now. Read a bit deeper into this, apparently he's doing the '...

Re: Hardcore Nether Animals Discussion (Spoilers)
Allright, I just pissed my pants. Great job. I turn a corner in my base and I see one of my dogs looking at me. I didn't like that. At all. His eyes were red and his head was spinning. Like, exorcist style. However, my nether portal is kinda far away (64 blocks, give or take) and the dog never went...

Re: BTW Research Add-On v1.0 - Learning the gameplay way
The description for the wooden pressure plate is wrong. It looks like the description for a stone pressure plate. I know this was the case before the 1.0 release, I reported the same thing in the old thread. I have to report another mistake: the description of the tallow says it will "React ch...

I'd just like to thank you for the videos you've done so far, I really enjoy watching how you approach things and deal with them. It was actually really really handy for seeing what areas could use subtle guidance when I was writing descriptions for the Research add-on.
