I can't test right now but couldn't you remove half the pumps and rely upon two or more merging streams to fill the gaps? That's whats happening now. The stream is brought up on block, then flows downstream 5 blocks, then falls back into the provider channel, flowing to exactly the end of the other...

One thing that I realized was that another way of measuring distance would be to place string on the ground, then count how much string there is. The only problem with this is that with the small hitbox and need for a string farm could make this a very annoying way of measuring. Easier and cheaper ...

I see what you're saying... and as for a use for a table... I dunno, maybe something you could stick a map on them? Just seems like everything has some purpose but the table. And SMP means that a table could be some sort of center piece or something.

No. I couldn't even bother with the end in vanilla. It wasn't interesting enough. So very true... I think someone (preferably Notch, since he's the one that screwed it up) should do more with the end. There's absolutely 0 point in going there.
