Re: Stumpless trees?

Is this with BTA installed? If so then this report should go there instead. This subforum is for issues in BTW only.

Re: Tree Decay & Deeper Oceans

Yeah the state value is just a 4 bit value that you can put anything in, but you can't exceed. All 4 log types are the same block id, and there are 3 rotations, so that already eats up 12 states (independent state properties are multiplied), and then stumps are the other 4. Every type of chewed log ...

Unique and threatening are good. Bullshit that's also inconsistent with how the rest of the game works is not.

Re: New Release! (BTW CE 2.0)

1) The splashes in BTW have always contained hints on mechanics. 2) Minecraft is really not a game that's conducive to blind play (that's one place I have always very strongly disagreed with FC on), and using the chisel on a stump in particular was a huge point of confusion when 4.AAHH first came ou...

Re: Better Terrain Addon v3.2.0 (BTW CE 2.0.2+)

The new clay blocks use metadata, they're the same id as regular clay. I believe the values are:
0 - dirt
1 - sand
2 - red sand
3 - grass

Re: Better Terrain Addon v3.2.0 (BTW CE 2.0.2+)

Climates are just generated as another second biome map at a larger scaler that is then layered on top of the standard biome map. When the biome map randomly chooses biomes for the list to generate, it looks at the overlapping climate map to determine which list to pull from. The generation of the t...

Re: Upper Man / 29meat - mysterious Japanese BTW player!

Feels bad man. I think it's safe to give Upper Man the dragon-slayer role since he completed the game on his Youtube channel. Also thanks for reporting bugs, I know you like your exploits but patching them does make the game smoother and more consistent. Dragon slayer is a discord only thing (I don...

Re: Are slimes supposed to move this fast?

Actually, it's a vanilla feature that slimes' attacks are not limited on frequency, they attempt to attack every tick if the target is in their attack radius. Players probably wouldn't be able to handle several slimes at a time even in vanilla Minecraft, this is why Mojang makes them rarely spawn a...

Re: Tree Decay & Deeper Oceans

Leaves store if they are natural or player-placed, though logs already use all 16 states. Best way to do it imo would just be to trace the logs like you mentioned, and then only activate tree-chopping behavior when the logs are contacting natural leaves.

Re: New Release! (BTW CE 2.0)

Yep, that is all fixed now. The size of water only affects fishing as a binary state of "is the body of water big enough", which can be determined if the bobber is producing bubble particles while sitting in the water. The actual size required is: 5x5x4 of water sources in a diamond (e.g. ...

Re: Are slimes supposed to move this fast?

Yeah it's likely because of how little knockback they deal so you don't get bumped away and they can hit you right away again.

Logs should not be usable at all on campfires. You need to chop them up to use them on campfires (though whole logs can be used in ovens)

Re: Tree Decay & Deeper Oceans

I've had thoughts about adding the ability to chop trees by repeatedly breaking the bottom block with an axe, using something like the current chewed log model to indicate progress, which would help with that.

Re: Are slimes supposed to move this fast?

Yep, slimes are meant to be very fast. In vanilla they are an absolute joke, so FC sped them up and made the baby ones deal damage to make them an actual threat. Even a single large slime is a serious threat. You get 1/2 a second of invincibility when being attacked. If it's taking a handful of seco...

Re: Better Terrain Addon v3.2.0 (BTW CE 2.0.2+)

Sugarcane can actually spawn in any climate, just for that reason. It's most common in tropical climates, but at least one biome in every climate can spawn sugarcane. Temperate: Dark Forest, Mangrove Forest, Mystic Valley, Temperate Forest Arid: Plains Tropical: Jungle, Rainforest, Swamp, Tropics, V...

Re: Deco Addon v4.1.0 (BTW CE 2.0.2+)

Tables not being in the creative inventory isn't a bug. Tables share IDs with subblocks like sidings, mouldings, etc, which are intentionally left out of the creative menu for now since they would clog it up. A solution to that to allow them to be put into the creative menu will come at a future dat...

Re: Better Terrain Addon v3.2.0 (BTW CE 2.0.2+)

Yep known issue with mahogany trees trying to reference deco. Already have a fix in the next release.

Will definitely take a look at those crashes, having concrete info will be a good start. Although I don't get those too often, it's unfortunate you've been hitting them that often.

Re: where is the texture of partially eaten grass top

This post has full documentation of MCPatcher features: Documentation. I don't remember if you can set textures based on coordinates.

The textures you want are fcBlockGrassSparse for the grass part that gets colored, and fcBlockGrassSparseDirt for the dirt part under which does not get colroed.

Re: Deco Addon v4.1.0 (BTW CE 2.0.2+)

The point of deco is aesthetics and building, and no placing while jumping is a detriment to that (and also imo is largely a legacy of when non-gravity blocks were easier to obtain in the early game). As such, it also does incidentally make things a little bit easier, although not a ton. The main th...

Re: Better Terrain Addon v3.2.0 (BTW CE 2.0.2+)

Still trying to track down the issue with beta generation, it's a known issue just nontrivial.

As for rivers, it just purely scales up all rivers, although allowing for small rivers on top of that is not a bad idea, I can look into it to see how easy that would be to do.

Re: Better Terrain Addon v3.2.0 (BTW CE 2.0.2+)

BTA uses it's own pipeline for world gen. Some of it is copied from vanilla but it's got a lot of customizations in basically every part of world gen. I can explain how it works in more depth if you'd like, but the short answer is that it changes everything to some extent. As for the freeze, it's a ...
