Re: Game Design - Incremental Games
Well this thread has all the potential to get me stuck in more of these :D I recently picked up cookie clicker again since they announced version 2. Not too much different from version 1 except they have prestige and heavenly chips on reset. Prestige is for adding %clicks/sec on next reset. Heavenly...

and I think the chances that it is architected in a way that will facilitate MP is just about zero. Right from the start he has had this intended for a 4 player co-op. The only reason he released it as a SP game was because he was about a year behind his personal milestone of having the SP game pol...

Re: Windows 10
Sure, but I was talking about games that explicitly support or require it. DX11 doesn't suddenly stop working because you're on Windows 10 And I was explaining why you wont see many games for a while because a lot of optimizations in DX12 work on a game which was designed for DX11. For example the ...

Re: Windows 10
Im currently running windows 8.1 I found Windows 10 to be much better than windows 8, Although my preference is still windows 7. So far yet I am yet to have a bad experience with Win 10. there's no games that have been announced to require DirectX 12 AFAIK A lot of the DX12 optimizations work with ...

Re: Swamp Mobtrap - Item Sorting
Errrrr. I'll buy those bat wings off you, I need them for Librarian trading! Yeah that's likely where they will be going. I mean there is nothing that I need to automate that requires automatic separation of bat wings from scrolls like I have needed for Bones & Shafts to send bones to grinding ...

Re: Swamp Mobtrap - Item Sorting
Cheers guys! For the time being I had put in a soft-sorting system with hoppers full with 1 of a stack of each of the things I didn't want to go into automated processing. Later on I will separate spiders with a wall climb+chickens and witches with a fall that kills everything else I should be good ...

Im sure they don't pay that much per map, its more that maps that are popular and sell a lot of copies that would accumulate up to the $2k mark

I have no interest in learning or playing them, but there is something in the way he describes what he is doing that just makes for good background noise This. I don't think I have the time or patience to learn how to play this and games like this, but just listening to him as he goes on about chan...

And not only what Dave said but its just as easy to install the mod in any version with the launcher so there really is no point to investing massive time and effort just to make a little number go up

Re: This mod is still as awesome as ever!
Again I know what you are saying, but there is a value to all of the survival portion of the game that can be hard to quantify by itself without the entire scope of the game. It's like saying "I enabled the experience of BTW by cheating in SFS and bypassing the entire tech tree" I know you...

Re: This mod is still as awesome as ever!
How we dealt with it at the time was to cheat, basically; we used tp to overcome hardcore spawn. It just didn't fit with our desire to play together I understand what you mean but the problem with that is that it will ultimately harm your overall play experience. I was pretty gutted when our coop g...

Re: This mod is still as awesome as ever!
I'm planning to get my younger brother into BTW, but I can't see how we could experience the game together if one of us dies This is just one of the realities you have to face when playing BTW, but it also opens up the opportunity to overcome some of the initial challenge of hardcore spawning. On o...

Re: Swamp Mobtrap - Item Sorting
You could rig something with a millstone and block dispenser to separate bone [as bonemeal] from shafts Not at SFS yet The creeper oysters/warts and slimeballs/eyes ect- how many do you really need Which is why I specified rotten flesh and bones try to sort mobs before killing them Thought of that,...

Re: Swamp Mobtrap - Item Sorting
I'm also having the same problem. Witch warts I also can't filter from creeper oysters either. I have tried using bellows, but they all seem to have the same weight , buoyancy may be an option though (I haven't tried that). Yeah I cant filter those either. Both have same buoyancy. All up the items ...

Swamp Mobtrap - Item Sorting
I have started filtering the drops from a swamp mobfarm however with the additional drops provided in a swamp I am unable to filter out some of the items that I wanted to set up some automated processing for.
Specifically Bone from Shafts and Glass Bottles from Rotten Flesh
Anyone have any tips?

Re: What to do next
I have iron armor dropped by a zombie and could make most of the diamond armor but I don't make or wear them for fear of losing it by death. Honestly I wouldn't worry about this so much. Enchanted diamond armour makes you a tank. Before Improved Gloom I used to roam around exploring in the dark wit...

Re: [spoilers] Mushroom farm designs
No 2x2 spawn places or spiders can spawn AFAIK that's not how spider spawning works. they spawn on individual blocks like any mob but check to see if the surrounding blocks are clear in a 3x3 area, so that design will spawn spiders. My old design should still work for mushrooms: http://i.imgur.com/...

That is pretty cool, I always felt that the zombies should die from head trauma only and any other damage would only stop the affected body part from working.DerAlex wrote:Decapitation and limb removal in particular should be fun :D

Re: Ark
Well they are working on getting it DX12 ready which will help those who have access to it.
The optimisation done in DX12 basically allows ~10x objects for the same memory costs which is really fantastic for those on dated systems.

Re: Stake and Hearty Stew
We made our chicken farm too good, so when going exploring I tend to only bring cooked eggs and a flame sword.
As I go along I stab pigs for cooked pork and make ham and eggs as I need it.
I haven't gotten around to making anything aesthetic with stakes yet.
