Re: X-Rebirth, You can walk where?
I've been waiting for this game for a few years, mostly because I've always been a huge fan of this genre. Games like Elite, Starflight, Privateer I&II, Freelancer, and lately the X -universe series. This is right up my alley! The only thing that would make it better is multiplayer - but I think...

Re: Suggest Good Films
I looked through the list and didn't see:
Blade Runner
Metropolis (They've actually found an original uncut/un-mixed-up version with all the footage now - Woot!)
Brazil (both endings)
But these are high among my "must see before you die" list.

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!
Mission Control just got updated by someone else who picked up the ball. After messing around with it for the last several hours, I've had a blast doing the remake of the stock missions. I recommend using only stock parts for the missions, excepting the occasional mod a set of missions calls for (su...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!
I don't want anything in my mod list to be too OP, and I don't want to miss anything that adds design challenges to tackle. I use the Nova-Punch pack for parts that I feel are missing; such as more variation in the size of fuel storage containers, decouplers, and fairings (up to 5m), and a radial p...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!
Oh I know about the mainsail, that whole design was an abomination. What I was asking was, how do you plop the rover down in a weight efficient manner? I have a feeling that my method of just crashing the rocket so that the engine + fuel tank explodes and only the rover remains is horribly incorrec...

I normally run on near full throttle, is that the issue? I also start angling to the west in the area of 10k, how high are you all normally when you're aiming full horizontal? Could someone maybe go part-by-part through one of their constructions that got to the moon? I feel like I'm missing someth...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!
#1 tip I've discovered when using FAR (so far): use a joystick :) I've been using keyboard up until now, and that just wasn't cutting it for the gradual maneuvers in atmosphere that FAR requires. Most times I tried to make adjustment to my trajectory, I'd just set the rocket oscillating, and a few ...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!
Not sure, but are you using engines with thrust vectoring? The mention of winglets being required above made me wonder. In that FAR test I had locked my thrust vectoring out of habit (action grouped) because last version it was so awful during launch. Fixed. It still doesn't hurt to attach winglets...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!
Death to asparagus! That would so be on my immediate nerf list if I was a Kerbal dev. At present I just avoid it like the plague. Really? Because of the ridiculous unwieldy designs that would never make it through the atmosphere? I think there is a sensible way to use it (Kerbal X being what I cons...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!
Yes, because you have more parts at your disposal. Build bigger rockets! As i found out, bigger rockets usually are needlessly complex and do not seem to be working as well. or i haven't figured out the proper ratio. Build smarter rockets. There are some magic fueltank:engine ratios that create gre...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!
Will try that out for the incoming rover delivery. Although now that I am at the Mun, I am at a bit of a loss as to what I am supposed to do there heh. The module I successfully delivered has a radio tower, solar panels, science, comfort, and room for expansion. Except I dunno what to add on, I hav...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!
If you really are itching for a career mode, you might want to check out Mission Controller. The author hasn't updated to 0.21 yet, [...snip...] I can't vouch for how well-balanced they are, as I've never used the mod myself. Mission Controller is based on native pricing, and if you have mod part p...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!
About mods : I guess you guys would recommend to play without any at first, right ? I wouldn't recommend any until you get used to the native parts, game mechanics and can do basic tasks like orbit, land, transfer, dock, and crash gloriously. Recently my major accomplishment was landing on the Mun ...

That was quick -- .21.1 Patch is out Changelog: v0.21.1 Bug Fixes and Tweaks: * Removed some unused assets from KSP/Parts. * Fixed an issue with some scenery meshes that could cause bits of the UI to become unresponsive in some cases (mainly in the VAB and SPH). * Tweaked some object scales slightly...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!
Any advice ? Take the route (as FC mentioned above) of following in the footsteps of real world space agencies. Set yourself tasks that will help you learn the mechanics of the game. 1) Build an probe that can achieve orbit height and return safely. 2) Build an probe that can achieve orbit. 3) Put ...

Also reworking the End Flight and Recover options added much needed functionality. They also improved some of the graphics and very nice cratering of the moon. Looki...

Seriously guys, if even here floating blocks become an issue, it's like everything that FC stands for game design-wise has never even begun to approach you with an intent to make contact. Or at least, that's what I feel when reading the thread... This is a discussion about things that personally ir...

Re: Stuff that never felt right.
Blocks that float. Yep, I said it. Blocks that float. It annoys me that blocks without anchors to land can just hover in the air, but pumpkins and sand, can't. I don't mind at all if they are stuck to other blocks which aren't floating. I imagine that it would be a pain in the ass to write in checks...

Half-baked rant enclosed: Re: HC Spawn - The only difference in the option removed or not is whether players manually teleport their playing partner to them, or they have the game to do it for them. While I'm not a huge fan of Tribes 2, it being early FPS in the Unreal Tourney/Quake legacy (all of which I played the living hell out of), the music in this game is awesome.
