Mother of all necro's. Waiting and watching to actually get to see someone hit with FC's hammer live instead of as an instant replay.

Re: Best use for early game pistons.

Oh I don't have wheat yet but I imagine I'll have wheat (or another cultivated crop) before I get to soul urns so I'm setting a piston aside for that purpose eventually. The melon idea is interesting. I can think of lots of uses for it once I have hoppers but wanted to see if there were any great ea...

I have returned.

I had stopped playing BTW (and subsequently MC) because the mod had gotten a little more HC than I was liking at the time but I've come back and am really enjoying it again. I'm very slowly moving up the tech tree in SSP and I actually got Tom to hop back on the SMP server with me as well so I look ...

Best use for early game pistons.

So I've recently started playing BTW again after taking a long break and the game has drastically changed since I last played. One of the big changes is the significant delay on being able to get pistons due to recipe changes. I have been pretty lucky and in my exploring have found 2 different jungl...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.80)

Wow a change to the tens place instead of the hundreds. This is a banner release indeed. :) Haven't had much time to play recently but the release still looks amazing. The idea of better picks being required the deeper you go is genius.

Re: so a Diamond armor Worth more than Notch wight in gold?

The other day just for fun I calculated out how much the enchanted golden apple (the one that uses gold blocks) would cost. It was in roughly the same neighborhood. 9 cubic meters of gold is more than enough to retire on.

Fermented Spider Eye Uncraftable

The fermented spider eye recipe was not updated to use the new mushrooms. I have some of the old mushrooms laying around that I hadn't converted yet and they will still successfully craft the fermented spider eye but the new ones will not.

Re: Beacon to speed crop growth.

It could compliment the mechanic surrounding bonemeal. By your logic the night vision beacon destroys the interesting mechanic of the night vision potion and the true sight beacon destroys the interesting mechanic of the ender spectacles. Most beacons replace or complement another mechanic already i...

Beacon to speed crop growth.

With the changes to the time it takes crops to grow in HC hunger it would seem like a reasonably powerful beacon effect to accelerate plant growth via a fertilizer beacon. With the dung beacon being pretty much a joke at the moment I think it would be an excellent in game use for it. (removing the p...

Oh Crimson thank god. I went to log on and got the same thing and was like "WTF I didn't do anything bad!" So it does look like its a server issue. Or the two of us are in collusion on some conspiracy that we ourselves are unaware of.

Re: Hardcore Spawn Request for Info

This seems like it would be easy to test... Install a minimap mod (for the sake of testing. Not for actual gameplay) and die a bunch of times. Each time you die set a waypoint. Rinse repeat until you're happy that you have a large enough data pool.

Yeah as long as they're collected it's not that hard to put them back in the top. Especially since with the BD you don't even need to make them into blocks again before reinserting them.

Re: Auto Kiln and Urn Spinner

That looks really awesome man. My one question would be what happens to the extra clay balls that spin off while making the urn? I didn't see anything that took care of them and that's one of the big things that has been plaguing all of my attempts to design a auto potter/kiln.

Re: Do we need a community redstone resource thread?

I'm totally on board. I think it would be beneficial to show the vanilla approach and then different ways to accomplish it in BTW. There's a ton of BTW things that can be done late in the game but I think it would also be worthwhile to show "budget builds" or ways to accomplish the same go...

Re: Problem with updating to V4.57

If you're using windows and have it set to create system restore points there is a way to roll back specific folders. You might lose a week of work but it's better than losing the entire world. Consult google. Many people don't realize that the system restore actually has that functionality.
