Block Dispenser does not plant Cocoa Beans

Cocoa beans are tossed as an item instead of planted on jungle wood logs.

Possibly related: The block dispenser harvests cocoa bean plants as cocoa powder. Cocoa powder in the block dispenser is not tossed as an item.

Re: [SPOILERZ] Hardcore Villagers trading mechanics.

I really like the cosmetic change that happens with the scientists at lvl 4. I wasn't expecting it, but it's such a nice touch. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by one of the trade offers from the maxed level farmers. That will make starting nether farms in new worlds so much easier. I always dreade...

Re: [SPOILERZ] Hardcore Villagers trading mechanics.

Now if only they actually used it, the bloody hoarders. Who says they don't? :) Yeah, one of the things I like most so far about this system is the way that the new trades which open up at each level are related to the threshold item that you give. So far I've managed to develop a couple lvl 4 farm...

Re: Farming Hats

The artificial waterfall idea in the OP should work if the waterfall is big enough and dark enough. BTW changed it so that squids spawn at any height, but only in darkness and in sufficiently large bodies of water. If your base is near an ocean though, the possessed cow farm might be better. Farms t...

Re: Better Than Starting Manned (Flower's WIP KSP mod )

Is it intended that you don't get the mainsail engine with the big orange tank anymore? And if so what am I supposed to do with the big orange tank? At first you have to improvise your own high-thrust engine by using the adapters that come with the orange tank to cluster a bunch of smaller engines ...

I normally only lurk, but I thought it only right to chime in here and say thank you for everything! I picked up BTW nearly two years ago when I got bored of vanilla Minecraft after two months, and am still enjoying BTW to this day. You've really made something remarkable, and I can't wait to see wh...

Re: On Silverfish and clay farms

Hmmm. Okay, so instead of a single floor of replacing stone, I'm looking at several floors to encourage silverfish to breed multiple times? Multiple floors make sense given the number of silverfish you'll want, but how do they encourage them to breed multiple times? If you're dropping the silverfis...

Re: Jungle balance discussion (SPOILERS)

I'm posting again here to say that, having recently died and respawned near a jungle, there's a very cool tension to that situation. Part of me immediately wanted to search the jungle in the hopes of finding a temple and early redstone, but another part wanted to avoid poisonous spiders at all costs...

Re: Jungle balance discussion (SPOILERS)

Yeah, I set up an observation post in the middle of the jungle near my base to try and discover the changes. For the first few minutes of the night I only saw a couple of mobs and was concerned that jungles might still be too safe. Then I got a closer look at one of them, and now I'm never going bac...

Re: Wow...witches are lame...

Yeah, I've never seen a witch either. The spawning rules are indicative of Mojang's complete disregard for mob traps. I've toyed with the idea of building a farm for them, but it just seems like an unjustifiable amount of work lighting up everything so that you can get decent rates from their tiny s...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.8911)

Just played a bit with this update, and I'm really enjoying the hunger change. In my early game world I was feeling a bit ridiculous living exclusively off of pumpkin seeds, but now they're so inconvenient to eat that I finally upgraded to real food. Thanks, FC!

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.891)

Woo! This is awesome. I was just starting to feel bothered by my excessive use of both rotted arrows and the vanilla enchanter in the late game. It seemed like I should have upgraded long ago, but there was no need to do that when I could easily enchant Power IV regular bows, Fortune III iron pickax...

Re: [1.5.2] [4.88/4.87] Biomes O' Plenty 0.0.5 - BTW Edition

Another balance issue to keep in mind is the same problem that vanilla jungles have. Hostile mobs don't normally spawn on leaves and therefore any biome with lots of underbrush feels too safe. This definitely seemed to be true of the Sacred Springs biome, at least. That being said, I haven't found a...

Re: Trap Doors: Have I gone too far?

I really like this change, though that's easier for me to say since it doesn't affect me at all. I've built a lot of redstone machinery in my worlds, but only one early build uses redstone-activated trapdoors, and I disliked the look of it enough that ever since then I've stuck to pistons. When ever...

Re: Scrolls...ok, wtf is going on?

Hehe...indeed. Do you happen to know how they interact with creatures with the relentless attribute? I don't have any in my deck right now, but I may become much fonder of iron ogres if they plow through those things. I had the same hope for Iron Ogre, but unfortunately relentless doesn't do anythi...

Re: Animal Suffocation Bug Info Thread

I don't know if this is helpful, but I've observed that if a baby animal is being pushed against a wall (often by other babies trying to get to an out-of-reach parent) it will often glitch into that wall as it turns into an adult. If the wall is made of solid blocks the adult will usually suffocate....

Re: Vanilla Feature court - Session 1 - Analog Redstone

This is not a feature I would have wanted in Better than Wolves. I know I could make us of it, but I think it's a very bad idea. I think an analog system in itself is fine, but tacking it onto a digital system just seems like a lazy implementation that detracts from the elegance of redstone. That's ...

Well it's definitely not a bug, since they aren't fuel in vanilla either, according to http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Furnace

Honestly, I had no idea that so much random junk could be used as furnace fuel.

After wandering a bit in a new world and finding an area that looked good for a base, I quickly went around enclosing some of the local wildlife in dirt boxes to keep them safe until such time as I could move them to a real pen. The next morning, I discovered that this is also a great way to bait ce...
