Re: [SPOILERS] 3.80 feature discovery thread

As I'm in the middle of a coding binge and am incapable of playing minecraft until these binges of mine subside, I haven't been able to test this yet, sadly. However, I do have some educated guesses/suggestions: Has anybody tried placing blocks around the infernal enchanter like bookshelves around a...

Share your cleverbot conversations!

Anybody here heard of cleverbot? http://cleverbot.com/ It's basically an AI that uses the things that have been said to it over time to attempt to make realistic conversation. It fails a LOT, but often in humorous ways, and I thought I'd make this thread to share my recent conversation, or at least ...

Re: Let's Mod Minecraft!

Subbed and thumbs up! I am enjoying your LP, and have added o couple of the mods you use because of it! Question about simply horse and sparrow, any issues? Simply horses wants to write/overwrite SimplyID.class and SparrowAPI.class.(I use McPatcher) I do not want to mess up Doggy Talents so haven't...

Funny moment playing Avadon TBF

So I'm playing this awesome tactical rpg indie game that I got a while back in an indie bundle, it's called Avadon: the Black Fortress. I'm in the middle of braving a barren desert full of vicious and hostile wolves, and I'm on a quest to kill some particularly vicious ones with red fur. I'm playing...

And just like that, the problem is gone again... Not sure what was up, but it solved itself just now.

Doesn't work on 3 or 4 either, actually. There seems to be a large delay between when the power state is changed and when the gearboxes actually turn off.

yes, I've reset the gearboxes, axels, and bellows, and the redstone for the turntable. Nothing's working.

Massive bellows-killing delay in gearbox powered state

I thought I'd make a video of the bug to help you out. Nothing I've done has been able to fix this, and it's utterly destroyed my crucible setup. I thought it might be fixed by removing and replacing blocks, but no dice.

I'm sorry for indirectly causing this to happen :( The only cure for songs stuck in your head that I know of is to get another song stuck in your head, one that doesn't annoy you. Re: Redstone Racetrack Help

That looks like an excellent setup for the t flip-flop, thanks a ton SW! As for the timer, those sound like good options, but I wanted to ask about one I thought of that hasn't been brought up, see what's wrong with it: What about a hopper that's only given power while the race is on, and dispenses ...

Redstone Racetrack Help

Yeah, I wanna compare movement speeds of various methods of transportation, and I'm thinking the best way to do this would be to set up two pressure plates at either end of a straight path, each connected to a timer setup that will start when one is pressed and stop when the other is pressed. I'm aw...

Re: Corridor Digital's new Minecraft Video (VFX)

I wonder what that bone's made out of, foam? Seems like it would be quite annoying/unwieldy for a dog to try and catch it in their mouth, even if it's light, it's still large, I bet that took SEVERAL shots :) Really? Thats your reaction to that clip? :P. It was one of my thoughts, and I sure as hel...

Re: what makes a good mod?

A lot has been said about what makes a good mod, but a large part of what makes a good mod is a good modder. There are a few qualities that I respect in other modders, and I thought I'd share a few of them: *A respect for balance and a healthy appetite for challenge, as well as an eye for avoiding r...

Re: Stackable Potions: Overpowered?

Hum. Can you tell me about a specific instance where you feel that the potions were providing you with too much power. I think if you're going to talk about what's OP and what's balanced you need to do it from the context of what's already in the game. So to say you don't notice how OP one thing is...

I don't think that's as simple as it sounds, and FC's already stated that he doesn't wish to mess with the core potion code for any reason, because it has its appendages in so many other classes and is a bit of a mess to boot.

Re: Stackable Potions: Overpowered?

Honestly though if they stopped stacking I would never use them. (Except the fire resist). I'm not sure what that says about them being op as they are. You don't notice it because in vanilla play, armor is way overpowered, and the difference between one overpowered safety net and two isn't that not...

Re: Stackable Potions: Overpowered?

I don't think so. I only started using potions because of that feature, actually. Remember: Stackability wasn't the only thing added to foods. There was also the time it took you to eat. Previously, you could fall down a lava lake, and just right-click constantly until you are out. Now, it takes ti...

Stackable Potions: Overpowered?

I just recently got into serious potion brewing for the first time since potions became stackable, and I'm a little concerned that it might be overpowered. I feel that potions were made non-stackable for the same reason that food was originally: they make survival a total non-issue if you can get a ...

Can I request that the nature of getting beeswax be included in the OP? I just saw honey in the output, and I was short on honeycombs and really needed wax, so I didn't even think to test that.

Re: Forge's New Modloader

Anyways, again, whatever, as it doesn't affect me in the least, but I do think it at least warrants a 'wtf?' about what the Forge developers are doing right now. My only guess is that they're trying to make Forge incompatible with as many non-Forge mods as possible to try and strong-arm them into c...
