I never found the beggining of the mod to be slow. I just spend a day planting hemp and play like regular minecraft till it is done.

I dislike anarchy quite a bit, and am glad to see a vanilla server not turn into one. I would really apreciate being whitelisted if you'd care for another person playing on the server. My IGN is EpicAaron29. Hope to see you on.
