Re: [Marsupial?][V1.1b] The Deco Add-On (POLL for fruit tree
Ever seen some texture packs where the birch trees were an enchanting shade of orange? Like walking through a fall landscape. You could start with leaf colors. I'm not sure how you tackle fruit, and I don't want to assume too much by saying anything, so I'll just trust your creative mind to it :)

Re: [Marsupial?][V1.1b] The Deco Add-On (POLL for fruit tree
I'd love to have fruit trees simply for aesthetics. I wouldn't mind an apple tree that dropped nothing, nor a grapevine that made nothing. I use this add-on because it adds a lot of trivial aesthetics that complements BTW's already extensive collection. I'd really love if it stayed that way. TL;DR D...

Re: Farming Hats
Does anyone know if they are attracted to light when making traps at the sea floor? Do I need to make sure its dark or are there other ways to lure them down? They're attracted to livestock though, so it might be worthwhile to set up some for bait. My original design worked, but that pond design up...

Re: Farming Hats
If I remember correctly, lighting up any dark ocean floors within spawn range will help your squid spawn rate. Can't seem to find info to verify it though, can anyone confirm or deny off the top of their head? It does help...but light diffusion underwater is shit. So you'll need a fuckton of glowst...

Re: Farming Hats
I considered it, but it also spawns other stuff, and doesn't spawn squid in numbers that would justify a rate of 2 wheat = % squid. Bats maybe, but I didn't see it being all that efficient.Gilberreke wrote:What about a possessed cow farm? AFAIK, they spawn squids too

I finally hit the point in the game where I'm hit with a brewing stand and healing potions shoot up in priority. That said, HBr now needs a Mysterious gland for every three I need so naturally the next logical thing to do is a squid farm, now I've not much idea how to make it, and information on des...

I use colored wool, which is a bleeding pain in the neck transporting in and around the nether portal. Sometimes lapis if I can spare it, sometimes Kegs and Rope in place of that lovely Hay Block (I still have my hopes up for that one). Even blocks of dung and packed earth look good in the correct p...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (March 31st) - Cold hard truth editio
I keep reading all these sentiments and the only thing that comes to my mind is that when RTH does come out, I'm hoping it's worth every damn cent I'm tossing at it. And knowing the history of this mod, I know it will, and am now also antsy about how long before humanity is graced with a real game. ...

The thought of villagers capable of defending themselves is so silly it almost gives me hope. You are such a cruel guy to give me hope.Psion wrote:I'll admit, the thought of villager cihldren holding ghast pets with string to fire upon hostile creatures made me laugh a bit.

Well that's closure right there. I just hope that wherever you go with RTH, it will have a backlink somewhere on this site. Knowing your taste in game balance, I'm quite keen on seeing how that turns out. On a side note, am I the only one who immediately thought of Half-Life 3 while reading this pos...

Re: What's your End-Game Fantasy?
As someone who plays co-op hardcore with a friend, I define the win condition as a full-sized soulforged steel beacon and a complete soulforged steel factory. If we manage that, hardcore gets turned off and we pat ourselves on the back. So far no dice, but we've come close. Died due to accidentally...

@FC, been rummaging around all listed changelogs on the wiki and not one mention on variable fall damage. That or I missed it. If you're planning it though, that's enough reason to plan ahead as well. Cheers. By "change log" I mean the one in the readme. The one on the wiki is community m...

Re: Help with Endermen
Why is everyone suggesting deserts? Is it just because it's a flat, open area or is there something about deserts and endermen I don't know about? It's easier to attract Endermen in deserts due to the lack of high standing foliage. @FC, been rummaging around all listed changelogs on the wiki and no...

As a point of interest, is the fall damage variable? I've tried this before and some of em don't die quite right.DaveYanakov wrote:If you dig a pit trap in the desert deep enough to kill them with fall damage and put a tower above that, you can get half a dozen pearls in a night without trying too hard.

Aye, I think I just found out the hard way that making a forest out of two oak trees is not going to be easy. I set out earlier to find more wood and hit landfall half a day's travel from my island. It's gonna be an interesting project building my own forest...daunting, but interesting. And I found ...

So I've just gotten around to making a final world in anticipation of BTW's culmination. Figure by the time I get to villagers, definitive progress has been made. Re: Trapped with Ghasts
Having a ghast re-start your portal is actually possible, but if you think you can do it without at least full leather armor you're gonna have a bad time. The fireball blast must light up at least one of the two obsidian blocks at the bottom. Better if you have a cobblestone floor to weave and dodge...

Re: Better Than Horses v0.3 (BTW v.4-89PHILLIP)
So can I get this straight, the purpose of the horses here are
1. Transport (significant speed?)
2. Storage
3. Companionship
4. Aesthetics
Just trying to decide if they're worth hiking onto my current world.
