Re: The ongoing 1.3 update epic

To quote my Doctor: Fantastic! :) Few days left to go before I can afford that beer for you, man, have to wait until I get paid. But then I think I'll get you an Oslo-priced one. ;) Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this. I discovered yesterday that many of your features feel like vMC ...

Re: The ongoing 1.3 update epic

Not only are you making awesome progress, but implementing new features as well? Awesome! :)

I've wanted grass slabs for ages, would make the more garden-like parts of my base so much more accessible. Thanks for that :)

And good luck on the remainder of the update journey. :)

Re: Did diablo 3 suck?

I've been a fan of the Diablo series since the original, and while D3 wasn't all it was hyped up to be (go figure...) I still enjoyed it. Haven't played for a while, though, since I always seem to return to Minecraft after every stint with another game... I don't think it sucked, but it wasn't any h...

Re: I f*cking hate JavaScript...

I can definitely recommend jQuery. I've used it in several large projects at work, as well as for hobby stuff, and it's a godsent. The whole XHR thing, for instance, suddenly makes sense usage-wise. :)

Re: I f*cking hate JavaScript...

Well, it seems like you're trying to do string concatenation there, right? If so, you should either do var lookUp = "/WAN Router: " + linkName + " DOWN/"; or this var lookUp = "/WAN Router: ".concat(linkName, " DOWN/"); The concat method is on a string object,...

Re: I f*cking hate JavaScript...

What does happen when this runs on a page? And what format do you get the data in? What you can do is open up the dev tools in your browser (F12 seems to be the standard keyboard shortcut) and look at what happens in the script as it runs. That might help you find out what's wrong.

Re: Sharing useful builds that get the job done

I've been playing around with Poppycocks' freight elevator lately, and I managed to compact it a little more. It can probably still be slimmed down somehow, but this will definitely be my goto build for item elevators in the future. Works like a charm! :) For a video that shows how to build the orig...

Re: The Chase vs The Catch - Preferences in Games, Films, Bo

For me it's mostly about the chase. I loved the longer arcs of Doctor Who, for instance, because they let me spend hours making up theories about where the story was heading and discussing them with my mistress. Or a lot of Simon Furman's writing on Transformers, where the twists and turns of the st...

Re: Have anyone here ever read Hellboy?

i am much older than you think and still read comics xD I love Batman too, the whole franchise but nor read all of it I'll be 32 this year, and I definitely read comics. And not just the (socalled) deep, thought-provoking stuff. I still love reading Transformers. :) I just don't like the expression...

Re: Have anyone here ever read Hellboy?

Yeah you are right, the self done with V. V for vendetta was a good movie, but the graphic novel is so much better Usually graphic novels such as V for Vendetta, Watchmen and others only have so much impact BECAUSE they're graphic novels. There's something about the "stillness" of a comic...

Re: Have anyone here ever read Hellboy?

I have trade paperbacks of most of them, and I've really enjoyed them. The mix of known myths and twists of them is quite a ride. :)

Must say, I liked the movies as well. It wasn't the same Hellboy, I agree, but I didn't expect anything apart from violent, action-filled fun, and I got exactly that.

Re: Ore Distribution Mods

I've been using BOD for a long while now, and I find it rewarding. In the beginning finding any ores is harder, as you say. Later on, if you have a vein that you haven't depleted, you have a good supply of that ore (but still need to find others, of course). Until you run out - and you will. Then it...

Re: A system that hurts you when on

You know I wonder if this goes hand in hand with a passive architecture system where you have to build a large building to capture and focus magical energies and then while it's active it would be dangerous to be inside. This actually sounds like a very cool thing to have to build. Have some archit...
