Re: New Release! (BTW V4.86)

-Added Hardcore Of Darkness to the mod. This consists of two things: first, areas that are in total darkness (note, this does not apply above ground where ambient light will always allow you to see), will appear absolutely pitch black regardless of your gamma settings. Secondly, I've added status e...

The sieges are more dynamic. Armies are now tracked 'off-screen', and areas can become occupied. It's all pretty extensive, so Cliff Notes isn't really possible.

Wait. I thought 1.6 was going to kill BTW... or maybe it was 1.5? 1.0? I get confused with so many prophecies.

Get to it in your own time, man. We're not going anywhere. :)

Were the wolves on a train going 50 miles per hour, passing a train heading in the opposite direction going 25 miles per hour? If both trains blow their whistles, solve for the amount of poop produced. Missing variable: decibel level of the whistles. If decibels > some number wolf poop * fear facto...

-Changed Hardcore Spawn so that if you're playing single player (this doesn't apply to multiplayer for obvious reasons), and you are assigned a new spawn location (dying over and over and respawning in the same spot won't do this), you will respawn on the morning after you died. This is to prevent ...

I've had this happen before. I usually just let it suffocate me and respawn elsewhere.

EDIT: Because you could be in a closed cave system, so no way to cut your way out.

Re: Steam Sales

The Paradox games still full-priced are recent release, so you won't likely see them drop in price. What will likely happen is they'll drop other game series further down in price for each day (CK2/etc. was 50% off Thursday). So wait til Monday to buy anything not on the front page. I'd expect Magi...

Alright. Can't let this go. Crusader Kings II with a lot of the foo-foo content plus three of the four expansion packs: $19.99 (EDIT: So, it's four out of five expansion packs; I don't really count Sunset Invasion because it seemed like a Paradox 'oops' to me, but you do get it as part of the bundle...

My understanding was that Undead Labs hadn't intended to do a PC release. It was only when Microsoft suggested that it would be a relatively easy port that they said, "Well, ok." I don't question their dedication, but I would expect them to take a while with it since it isn't their priorit...

With State of Decay just around the corner, I’ve got the zed-gaming bug. I’m curious what recommendations people have along with their reasoning. This means no dropping titles without explanation; the rest of us can't make decisions on where to spend our gaming dollars on no info. I have it on good ...

Or even... nobody knows. There used to be a lot of mages, but these days you can't find one in a lifetime of searching. And nobody knows why. ...offload a lot of writing/theorizing onto your players, who will fill in the blanks themselves. I submit that, in a campaign setting for a game, this has t...

Re: Need advice for reining in ideas

If theme won't do it, then don't toss anything out. Keep all the ideas. Instead, work out a timeline for your labor. Start with the core aspects of the world (geography, major [and only major] historical events, etc.). Do just the core. That way, you can be sure that your flood of ideas doesn't beco...

Theme. Try to choose a theme for your world (a la, "Power corrupts" or "Right and wrong are ambiguous"). Then, when an idea pops, see if it fits with the theme. Here is an example. In a setting where the theme is "Might equals Right", the idea of a democracy or even a r...
